It is a great smoke. If its to light for you try blending in a little latakia. 2% ought to be fine.
What's the story with 1M ? Any thoughts ?

Glad to hear you like it....I find that I like it more the longer I smoke it. You may also decide to try RLP-6 and BCA some day.... :D

Tanless, I like the 1M from Altadis... It is sweeter and has more of a chocolate taste to it than 1Q does. It is a pleasant change from 1Q every once and awhile.

I would also recommend the RLP-6. If you have smoked Captain Black, it seems to be like that, but without all the PG and other junk in it.

Glad to hear you like it Buckeye!
I don't think I'll ever get tired of it, as a matter of fact just this morning I unpacked another 8oz that was delivered yesterday.
(along with another 8 oz of Bald Headed Teacher!)

Your welcome! Troutbrook was a funky blend for me since I can usually tell if I will like a blend on the first bowl. I had it my mind it would be so much like 1Q that the first time I tried it, I was slightly disappointed. Then I gave it a fair shot the next day at being its own blend and it really sucked me in. Next thing I new, I'd gone through a half a pound of it!

Of the aromatics I have tried to date, the 1Q seems to be my prefered choice (because the room note is liked by my wife). I want to try adding 2% Latikia as suggested in hopes of trying to maintain a pleasing room note yet getting a bit closer to my (for now) favorite blend, Nightcap.

Been my #1 "Go To" for 35+ years.

Packs good & burns well, War Department likes the room note, Folks on the street like it.

And, most importantly... I like it.

I tried 1Q for the first time yesterday and I really didn't care for it. The Pipe I smoked it in has been suspect of being a bad smoker anyways though so I'm not sure until I try it in a few more pipes. Everyone including me loved the smell of it, but I just was not enjoing the smoking experience. Later on in the night, however, I did smoke a Camacho Room 101 cigar at the suggestion of the local cigar shop guy and I have to admit, I was rather taken with that cigar. Heavy earth, mushroom, leather and cocoa. a smooth deep rich cigar indeed.

I continue to love 1Q. It does taste a bit better in some pipes though......so find the pipe that sings with it and you may like it Ohin3.
