Wooden Pipe with Brass
It was used. The bowl was dirty & the brass tarnished. I wouldn't have known it was brass if it wasn't in the description on the tag. I didn't think of it before, but I can see now it's probably paraphernalia pipe. I'll just use it around the house to avoid any trouble. :-) Rico -

Removing cigar box stickers
Any tips on how to remove the stickers on cigar boxes? I’ve tried dish soap on the stickers with some success. On boxes I planned to sand & repaint, I just scraped them off after dishsoap, figuring I’d be sanding out any scratches. I’ve also used Skin-so-Soft with some success And a heat gun...- ricospipe

This is why I love this site – always great information! @Cortez: I know the tubing supposed to connect to the stem. Most of my pipe stems are wider than the 3/8-tubing (fishtails?) and the P-lip stem seems to be the only stem that fits in the tubing – but not without a fight. @ tbradsim1...- ricospipe

I’ve been trying to find the parts for a DIY retort to clean my pipes. The part I’m having problems finding in the right size is the surgical tubing (or latex tubing). Lowes and Home Depot only have 3/8” and everyone else just looks at me funny. I’m thinking I’ll be needing about 1” to 1...- ricospipe

OK, now I'm confused. I've been reading and some say take off the Meer bowl and clean inside the gourd. Others say you don't have to I did get it from an antique shop, so I don't know it's condition. Do I clean inside the gourd or do I leave it?- ricospipe

I have cleaned/sterilized the stem & it came out great. Haven't done anything to the rest of the pipe. Waiting while I do some research. It is a gourd pipe, so I want to be very careful with what I do. Anyone have any suggestions or tips? Rico- ricospipe

Cleaning Calabash acquisition
I just acquired my first Calabash pipe from a local antique store. I’ve read that you’re supposed to take off the Meer bowl to clean the gourd. I’m kinda afraid to take it off cause I don’t want to break the pipe. I was wondering if I could use a retort to clean it? Rico- ricospipe

Steel Warrior Pipe Knife
My latest antique store acquisition is a “Steel Warrior Pipe Knife” with Bone scales and silver bolsters. The show side has ‘Steel Warrior’ printed on blade, at base of blade, and emblem inlaid into scale. The bottom of blade on obverse is stamped ‘440 stainless’. Tag at store dated it 1907...- ricospipe

Xikar pipe lighter
