    Servant King is speaking truth. There are some tobaccos, I'm thinking SG tobaccos that need a considerable drying time. Couple that with maybe a lighter packing method might lead to a smoother smoke. In my opinion of course.

    Commonwealth in my Franken-Sportsmen. I like taking Brigham Sportsmans and sanding them smooth and finishing them au naturale. First time trying Commonwealth. Shit is wet as hell. But good.

    Yeah, I'm a bit quirky too. I just like the esthetics of the tin. I might experiment with tape (electrical or foil tape) around the circumference of the lid if I find I'm losing moisture. We'll see.

    I'm with Embers on this one. Value means nothing to me. All do respect for those who buy pipes to sell and not to smoke but I'm a smoker. That being said for esthetics I want the original stem or I don't buy.
