    Is This a Busted Adapter?

I acquired this no name pipe and after removing the stem, I noticed this possible busted adapter. Not sure…it’s the same exact size as a 3mm adapter. I tried removing it but it wouldn’t budge… just not sure if it’s stuck or part of the stem. It does appear to have a bit of a jagged end to it.

    Blend Recommendation?

    Yep…thought I was back in The ‘60’s singing Kum-by-ya.

    Blend Recommendation?

As a novice pipe smoker of 2 years, I (like many others) started with Aros and then began branching out towards the English blends. Unfortunately, my palette is not as sophisticated as others and I have a difficult time distinguishing flavors, even with Aros. In an effort to understand the...

    Savinelli 320 & 320ks?

Nah…I realize the 321 is the smaller version of the 320 but while researching, the KS does seem to be a little larger in some instances. But I have discovered that is not always the case. Hence the confusion. A Bianca 320 has a bowl depth of 35mm but the Roma 320ks is 34mm. The Bianca has an...

    Savinelli 320 & 320ks?

I am considering purchasing a Savinelli Author style pipe and have charted all the types Savinelli has. But my question is…what is the difference between a 320 and a 320 ks? Haven’t been able to find out.

    What’s the Difference?

When I started smoking pipes two years ago, I wasn’t sure what shape pipe I would like so I purchased a few inexpensive types to try. I tried Cobs and a couple cheap briars, even a Churchwarden. Now that I have acquired some knowledge, I am starting to branch out with some quality pipes. I...

    New Pipe vs Old…

I’ve only been pipe smoking for about 2 years and just recently began purchasing really good pipes. For the last years, I’ve generally smoked different cobs trying to decide what shape I prefer. While waiting for my new Savanelli 614 to arrive, yesterday I smoked my C&D Smooth English in my...

    Your Significant Other’s Preferred Blend?

I find myself to be VERY lucky in this department. Mine is acceptable to any and all tobacco. She does not smoke but has no problem sitting with me on the deck while I either smoke my pipe or cigars. She is partial to Cpt Black Cherry since that is what her Grandfather smoked. She is so...

What drinks to pair with tobacco?

I asked this same question about a year ago as I believe there IS a good match between tobacco and beverage. I discovered many years ago that Sambuca with my favorite cigar (Hoyo) is a perfect combo…for me. Obviously this topic is very subjective but currently I drink a Pinot Grigio or...

    Tobacco and Cold/Hot Temps

As far as the coats, I assumed they might absorb the smoke but am curious as to how bad. Muttinchop video stated that since pipe tobacco doesn’t have chemicals like cigarettes, a “room” will not smell like smoke. Of course Aeros do have some chemicals but am going to experiment by taking MY...

    Tobacco and Cold/Hot Temps

I’ve only been smoking pipes for about 2 years so still learning. I live in upstate NY where (obviously) we get freezing temps in the Winter. In the last few Winters when temps were mid 20’s-30’s, I would brave the cold and smoke on my deck as long as there wasn't too much wind. But below these...

    Smoking Jacket

Seeing your post and link I went to my closet and brought out my sentimental crushed velvet jacket from yearrrrrrrs ago. Not from Turnbull but a Kenneth Cole. Now I have a smoking jacket. 🥴

Good Pipe Stores in NY State?

I recently moved to New York State about 15 miles above Binghamton NY and asked this question about two years ago… there doesn’t seem to be any good pipe stores in my vicinity and people mentioned stores in Clifton Park and Albany both of which are over 2 hours away. I am seriously in the...

    Tobacco at Night???

Well, will be putting all this to the test in about an hour. It’s 52* with a humidity of 53*. Will be smoking my usual blend of Captain Black and Sutliff Decadence. Wish I noticed the humidity when these problems occurred at night…but didn’t. To the few who mentioned about using the same pipe...

    Tobacco at Night???

That’s what I feel it might be. I live a couple hundred yards from a large river and many times during the evening you can see fog coming up from the river due to sun going down and temperature change. Sometimes the fog at night is heavy. Its definitely damper here at night and humidity has...

    Tobacco at Night???

I've been smoking pipe tobaccos for the last 2 years. I mainly smoke during the day and usually have no issues or need of re-lights. I use a Country Gentleman Cobbs with a few different tobaccos. The problem I'm running into is that I recently started smoking my pipe in the evening outdoors. I...

    What Spirits?

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately due to suffering from Gout, any beers are out (and do I miss it). I do like gin so a martini will get tried, as will the cognac, tawny port and tequila…all at the same time. ?

    What Spirits?

Admins, please move this if this is not in the appropriate section for this topic. I am looking for recommendations on a good liquor to enjoy with my pipes/tobacco. I realize this is a very personal and subjective thing but still hope to get some recommendations. I was a long time cigar smoker...

Does the PIPE Make the Difference?

I am fairly new to pipe smoking and like many, I am acquiring different styles of pipes to determine what I like. But have a question regarding styles. I have a couple MM Cobs, an inexpensive Pear, and a Churchwarden. My go-to has been my Cobs but it has raised a question regarding consistency...

When in Doubt, Dry It Out

Since the weather here in NY has been bad, anytime there is a decent day I light up. Being fairly new I have been trying many different brands but yesterday, I too, stumbled into the “dry-it-out” family. Due to senioritis which causes me to forget, I may put the tobacco out for an hour before...
