Alternate ways to rub out tobacco?

Hi, I find it impossible to rub out tobacco flakes that I cut from a plug. They just tend to compress into chunks which I have to pick apart manually with my fingernails. It takes ages and then doesn't even smoke right. So I'm looking for other ways to do it, I can't rub them out in my hands...

What is a good tobacco knife?

I like the idea of using a large cigar cutter, I don't seem to be able to find any though, they all seem to be the regular size. Fortunately amazon has one of those Opinel carbon knives for a tenner :)

What is a good tobacco knife?

Hi, I'm looking for a good tobacco cutting knife. I can't cut plugs very well at all it's very annoying but I'm just using knives from my kitchen. It's hard for me to get the knife to go straight down, it always goes out to the side. It's just annoying and time consuming :( I assume it's because...

Wood at the Bottom of Missouri Meerschaum Bowls

I see, it goes black very quick, this gave me the impression it was easily burnable, and could possibly set on fire! Thanks for assuaging my fears :)

Wood at the Bottom of Missouri Meerschaum Bowls

I just wish I could coat it in something non burnable so I can relax and just smoke my pipe without worrying I'm about to burn wood. Does no one really see the concern of putting your burning tobacco directly on top of wood? Easily burnable wood? I love the pipes, I just have to keep my wits...

Wood at the Bottom of Missouri Meerschaum Bowls

I guess this is a normal thing right since all four of my Missouri Meerschaum pipes have that chunk of wood in the bowl. How do people deal with that wood? Is the only option to just be careful? I only smoked wood once, on my first go with a MM, since then though I've been fine so it does look...

Peterson's 3P's Plug Tobacco: What is the top layer?

It was only the top couple of mm, it was as thin as a normal flake definitely not the "top half" of the plug. If anyone tries the top layer let me know how it goes. My next bowl will be the top layer of 3 P's just to confirm the taste. However I am very new to cutting these plugs, it's a bit of...

Peterson's 3P's Plug Tobacco: What is the top layer?

Hi, I recently bought a 5g sample of Peterson's 3 P's plug tobacco, and was insanely delicious, so I bought myself a tin. After firing it up I discover the taste is not the same,, there is a hint of that flavour that blew my mind, but it was not the same at all. Then I realized why, the 5g...

The "Wizard" Cobbit: Where to buy in England?

Hello, does anyone know where I can buy a Missouri Meerschaum "Wizard" Cobbit pipe. I'm looking to buy it online from within the UK to avoid the customs charge. I can find the other three Cobbits, but not the Wizard :( Any help appreciated, thanks.

My new Peterson lighter won't light :(

LMAO! Yes I facepalmed so hard I almost gave myself a black eye :D Let's hope I don't burn myself to death with it *fingers crossed* I don't feel too embarrassed about it actually, it does seem that it would be a much better design if the flint wheel would light the flame when turned the other...

My new Peterson lighter won't light :(

Hi, I just got one of thesePeterson lighters but it won't light. I filled it up with butane and checked the flint, it seems to be fine. When I strike the lighter I don't see any sparks coming off it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this working? Thanks

All these bowls, what's the difference?

I mostly use ready rubbed tobacco, hmm, I feel I need to research this more to make sure I get the right bowl. Thanks for the info.

All these bowls, what's the difference?

Hello, I want to buy one of these pipes, but there is a selection of bowls. I assume the bowls do make a difference and aren't just for aesthetics? Could someone tell me about each bowl please. Thanks

    What Tobaccos Do You Recommend?

Well, the taste. Is that a stupid answer lol. The ones I didn't like tasted sort of... bitter? I don't really know how to describe what I do and don't like. But one thing I have noticed is that if a tobacco is dark chances are I won't like it, but if it is a light colour then there's a chance I...

    What Tobaccos Do You Recommend?

Hi, I have tried many tobaccos but I find that it is somewhat rare that I actually like one. So far I like Kendal Cream, Kendal Red, and Clan Aromatic. Could someone recommend me some more tobaccos you think I might like? Thanks
