    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

Sorry for the delay ... right after Bucharest I had to leave for Slovakia, and got back to Romania only recently. Here is the ranking covering the top 30 pipers.

    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

A pitty we did not meet. I didn't imagine that people from the forum, especially traveling such a huge distance from the United States, were present. I was out after roughly 36 minutes, and I wouldn't have lasted past 50 with they way I packed my bowl, even if it didn't go out and smoked it to...

    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

It was a Mr. Brog straight billiard with a bowl of 3.7 cm deep, and 2 cm diameter. The blend was Peterson's Early Morning Pipe.

    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

Myeah ... the best record out of Italy is a tad over three hours, different pipe different tobacco. I am not actually too much into this. I mean, I smoke to the extent it gives me pleasure, and smoking non stop for hours certainly does not. But I sure enjoyed the atmosphere, the people, etc.

    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

I do not have a final ranking, but this year the trophy goes to Italy's Enrico Alberton, with 2 hours 23 minutes and 29 seconds. Congratulations !

    CIPC World Slow Smoking Championship

I am representing my club in Bucharest, for what was a grand event, hosted by Pipa Club Bucharest with the endorsement of Commitee International of Pipe Clubs. My time was a bit over 36 minutes, but I had no expectations. Here are a few pictures:

    I can't Find my Reviews

Ok .. found it, or maybe they have introduced it - not sure. In your profile tab, in the upper left corner there is a link to reviews, and by clicking there you can access the old fashioned list.

Pipe Smoking Social Meaning…If There Is One

Living in central Europe isn't easy as a pipe smoker. I personally don't like the attention that the pipe brings in public. Most of my friends know my dedication to smoking and collecting, so they truly understand what it means to me. On the other hand whenever I light a pipe in public I get all...

    I can't Find my Reviews

When I click on my own avatar or another user's I get this "User search form". 🤷‍♂️

    I can't Find my Reviews

I have tried what you suggested, and indeed it seems to work for most blends - although some seem to have been lost, or perhaps there is more than one way of presenting that blend - as in pouch/tin/bulk, each with their own page and reviews. Things seemed to be easier when one could access the...

    I can't Find my Reviews

Does anybody have a clue if the guys at tobaccorevies.com are still working on their website? I can't find my reviews anywhere. When I click on the profile activity I have zero all across the board. I even reviewed a blend after the upgrade, and can't find it. If I click, for example, on...

    Lakeland Tobacco

St Brunos is considered by many, and I agree, a lakeland. Not in the purest sense, but it is a friendly starter in my opinion. Beware, some can be very strong: Brown no.4 for example, 1792, or even gawith and hogarth's coniston plug. Some say beware of the tonka bean flavor, I say beware of...

Nothing Could Convince Me to go Ballooning, But I do Like to See Them.

IN Cappadocia, Turkey they have a thing for flying hot air balloons. It's something like wake up at 4 o clock in the morning, pay a dump load of money, but hey .. it's all worth it. The view ... well, one can get similar views from tall buildings, or other flying implements, but the silence is...

    Finally a Nic Hit

Looks like I'm late to this party ... but darn, four flakes ... no comment, what else could I have said?

What is a too Large of a Bowl

I have a tiroliche that is so deep that I am afraid I can hardly cling to anything when spooning the ceramic bowl. While tobacco gets very adhesive on the heel of thar pipe, I fear too much pressure will break the thing. I have some haunting memories with a clay pipe ..

What is a too Large of a Bowl

I think I finally figured out a take on this one. An age long mystery for me ... A too large of a bowl is a bowl for which you have to improvise a tamper, as the ones that can be bought, with regular shapes and lengths, can no longer do the job as your reach the heel of the bowl. What is your...

    Thoughts or Stories on Hazing?

As a huntsman in Europe we have a few traditions that do not apply to our US counterparts, which may be called hazing. The most common is the "baptism" of green huntsmen. Whenever one shoots a type of bird, but mostly big game, for the first time in their lives they have to be baptised by a...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2023?***

Mixing a bit of Kentuky Bird with cigar leaf from a damaged Joyo de Nicaragua cigar, in a Stanwell spigot. It's about 30/70, and on my next load I knight add a bit more aromatic .. couls be even better at 40/60.
