Matching Your Pipe With Your Clothes.

No I almost never dress up except for the theatre, hatchings, matchings and dispatchings, my daily attire is semi casual golf/polo shirts with chino's. I do however have a Harris tweed jacket and Lancastershire flat cap from my misspent youth. I suppose wearing that people might either think I am...

    Women Repelled By Pipe Smokers?

No I dont think so, I was playing racket ball at the country club with a couple of friends last week, afterwards we went to the clubhouse for lunch, as we were waiting for our meal I excused myself and went to the smokers corner, where I joint two older gents in ther mid fifties who smoked...

    pipe tobacco risks

Yes there are correlations between tobacco and cancer / heart disease, no one in my family, both maternal and paternal ever received cancer so this isn't even on the radar for me, however I have several relatives that past away due to myocardial infractions, so for myself I tend to exercise and...

    Filters protecting pipe shank/shaft?

Thanks guys, still learning here :) At least all my brairs have metal bands (military?) Since I am a 4 to 5 bowl per week person I doubt that my pipes might get damaged to match. Having said this thinking of getting this corn cobs everyone has been raving about.

Cannot taste tobacco/keep it lit/whats the point in sipping?

I had the same problem as you it mostly depends on the type of baccy used, I found cavendish burns more easily. as for packing the baccy after about a month of frustrated perseverance you will learn what works and what does not.

    Filters protecting pipe shank/shaft?

Thanks guys, concerning filters I do love the savi balsa filters but they are in 6mm whereas the 9mm filters are those tampon looking things with charcoal, really dislike them, however I assume they must work as one can clearly see then getting sogged in tar after two or three smoking sessions...

    Filters protecting pipe shank/shaft?

I was reading on a tobacco supplier website that filters or adaptors protects the shank of a pipe from cracking over time as it aids in absorption of moisture, is there any truth to this or is it just a marketing scheme to sell more filters? I use balsa filters in my Savinelli but my other 9mm...

I have an anthology of his stories, ''The Necronomicon'' written by the ''Mad Arab'' pops up in a lot of his stories, to think he wrote about aliens from distant galaxies in the early 1920/30 boggles ones mind.
