    Ethyl Rubbing Alcohol

Well it seems that your refer to the questions in the other thread. 1) The reasoning behind using consumable alcohol is that you don't leave any extra added chemical nasties in your pipe even if the pure alcohol (ethanol=ethyl) itself evaporates s.a...

    Quick Questions

I smoke SG 1792 Flake and English Mixtures in my Cobs. They don't build a lot of cake but a little adds over time. I would say I ream them 1-2 times a year not more.

    Quick Questions

Caveat: There are many ways to skin a cat so everybody develops his own "system" over time general proven ways are: 1) After you finish your smoke stir the ash and mix it with the dottle - this will soak up some moisture and makes it easier to dump the mess. 2) Yes, I would use a simple pipe...

    HU Tobacco - Need recommendations

Apart from his Flakes and 2 bulk Blends all of Hans offerings are in 100gram/3.5oz tins so it's either 5 tins or stepping up to 1 Kilo. :-) My recommendation would be Foundation by Musico Zulu for a sweet&spicy Lat Mixture.

What's the biggest size bowl you own? (Inner diameter)

My BBB Tasman Pot has an inner chamber diameter of exactly 1" and I think my Savinelli Punto Oro sand 320KS isn't that far behind. I'm still having sometimes troubles getting an even cherry going in both of these but they display english mixtures really well.

    Best Syria Latakia Options

Thank you Arno Well my plan is to get a decent amount of it for future years and cut it with other more mundane blends for added zest. 10% of it to a tin of Early Morning pipe or Squadron Leader gives you a much fuller experience. I'm currently at 2.5 pounds but will probably double it in the...

    Free Boubon? Sure!

I prefer Bakers and Knob Creek Single Cask from the JB Small Batch selection - Bookers is really a little bit on the strong side.

Not too impressed by DDNR, will I like another VA/VaPer

I started out with Dunhill's Elizabethan Mixture and hoped that the DNR would be much fuller and tastier - they are not, at least for me. So I'll stay with EM for the moment as I can simple stuff & puff it instead of doing the Origami Thing with the DNR's.
