    Free Pipe Project

Just had a message from Andy Stewart asking for my address as he has a package for me from Shaintiques, he hasn't posted it yet but I'm already looking out for the postman. More excited than a kid at Christmas;) Will post pics when parcel arrives.

    Falcon System

Got a international I use with 2 bowls at the moment, one for aros and the other for English blends.

    What a day.

Got laid off as part of redundancies last month, didn't help that I'd had to have a operation last year that ended up with me having 4 months off work on statutory sick pay. Had a interview today that I felt really upbeat about then came home to a eviction notice from my mortgage company through...

Ebay: What Are the Buyer's Chances?

Fairly new pipe smoker here so only one pipe from eBay so far, 100% satisfied. Mind you it was a Falcon International so if there had been any major faults the part concerned could have been easily replaced.

    Dream car.

Thanks all for the comments, he's loved hearing of them. Seriously thinking now after the cancer and giving him a high performance motor at a age when his reflexes are shot that sooner or later the only way he will go is if I end up shooting the old bugger, mind you if I keep the 7.62 dry I've...

    Bent or straight for beginers.

Thanks all for the input, like many of you have said it may be down to the aesthetics, I look at a bent and to me that's how a pipe should look. I just don't get the same feel from straights.

    Dream car.

Not pipe related but nearly lost my dad to cancer a couple of years ago. After operations and chemo he is in remission and on 6 month check ups. All his life his dream car has been a E-type jag, this weekend he's spent every minute ragging this to bits.

    Bent or straight for beginers.

May be a silly question but as only a year pipe smoker after giving up the cigs I find a bent pipe lots easier and more relaxing a smoke than a straight. Was given a straight by a friend but after a few months ended up giving it back as I simply couldn't get on with it. As a beginner do you...

    Free Pipe Project

Wow, what a great community idea and shows how much people look after each other, just wish for my sake that this just wasn't US based and extended to the UK, wish the pipe community over her had something like this. Thanks to the organisers and good luck and good smokes to everyone who's had...

Ay Up! - ʘ‿ʘ - Happy Yorkshire Day!

Currently living in Yorkshire so I'll wish you a happy Yorkshire day even though I hail from Lancashire on the right side of the hill. Loving the banter with the natives but as I explain to them, I'm only here as a forward observer, they've been too quiet too long and the last time they tried it...

CANCELLED: U.K. Pipe & Tobacco Show

Thanks for the info Warren. I will try and speak to them over the weekend.

    Repurposed Spice Rack

Great bit of adapting there, can't wait to find something similar myself. Much more enjoyable to make or repurpose as much equipment as you can yourself.

CANCELLED: U.K. Pipe & Tobacco Show

Are any of the organisers on here? I belong to another UK non pipe related group on FB that regularly organises weekend meets for between 100-1000 people with marquees, bar, camping/caravan area all catered for. If they are looking for a venue we may be able to arrange something for next year.

    UK B & M visits

Thanks Darthcider, grew up in Oldham myself so I used that shop regular when I first started with the pipe.

    The Wrist Watch

Still wear the same British Army CWC G10 watch I was issued with in 1989 when I made Lance Corporal for everyday at work, only on its 3rd battery and the same Swiss movement as the Omegas so I've never felt the need to upgrade. The long haired general did buy me a Tag for our 10th anniversary...

    UK B & M visits

Just visited Greens of Leeds this morning, they are the B&M outlet of Smoke-king, nice well stocked shop in the city centre with helpful staff. Managed to get out after 30 minutes having limited myself to a spare bowl for my Falcon, a tin of Squadron Leader and one of Dunhill Baby's Bottom plus...
