    Merchant Service 1935

Am considering this. For those that own this pipe, how happy with it are you?

What's the % of Dark Fired in Old Gowrie?

Am thinking of whipping up my own version of this by adding dark fired to Bayou Morning but don't know how much DF to add to a half pound of BM to approximate it. What do you think? thanks.

    Cristiano Pipes

So, I just bought my first Cristiano pipe, (unsmoked). Don't know much about them and was curious-are they hand-made? Had an itch to buy a pipe and was able to scratch it rather inexpensively with this purchase. An attractive rusticated acorn with silver ferrule.

    Rescued a Bat

So, I saw my first bat in the wild ever, but he was hanging upside down between the screen and the glass inside window of our enclosed back porch. I found something long and thin enough to slide between the windows to gently slide him down and out into a large aquarium net I had, quickly...

    Convoluted Shipping Routes

SP always gets orders out quickly. However, lately USPS has trucked them all over without reason delaying arrival. My expected packager thus far has gotten to Kansas City, then on to Wichita and is now headed back to KC.🤨

The One Peterson Pipe I Wouldn't Recommend Buying.

I have 10 Peterson Sherlock Holmes pipes and many other Petes which I love. But have recently decided to give up on smoking my LeStrade only because it clogs soon as I look at it and not worth the hassle. Rather like its shape but something about its design doesn't work well for ease of smoking.

    Stupidest Thing I Heard Today.

Today's encounter got me to thinking this might be an amusing thread to start .So, will start with my contribution. Went to our 1 and only local medical supply store to get more nebulizer tubes for my wife. The gal tells me they no longer can bill my wife's Medicare for it because we're out of...

    A Google Search Observation

Was doing a google search today on a medical question and what popped up on the top of the page was something entitled AI overview. It was great, concise, detailed info that I did't often find when I did searches in the past on other topics. Does this imply that this info was generated by AI?

    Another Stuck Stem Question

The freezer trick nearly always works to loosen a stuck stem. Only once previously it didn't work for me. As it was a cheap early eBay purchase pipe I wasn't that thrilled with it anyway and ended up tossing it in the garbage. However, now this is affecting 1 of my favorite pipes. Any other ways...

    Reamer For Bottom Of Bowl

Is a knife reamer the way to go to ream the bottom of pipe bowls or is another type of reamer the best?

    Tired of Crooks

So, yesterday my bank's fraud alert system notified me that someone was attemtping to use my debit card # to purchase $170 of Lifelock protection. Second time in the last 6 months I've had to replace my debit card. Am somewhat amused, though, at the irony that someone pretending to be me was...

    Briarville Does Fine Work

Previously had sent a couple of pipes to him for stem replacements of which I'm quite happy. So, recently sent in a Peterson 20s and 9s for reaming and cleaning. Had the pipes-bought used-for many years. Don't recall what the chambers looked like when I got them but they'd become somewhat too...

Why I'm Beginning To Dislike Straight Pipes

I have a few straight pipes that are great smokers and cause me little to no hassle. However, I have around a half-dozen pipes that I've decided to give up on today despite loving their look simply because they clog too damn easily and realized everyone is a straight. Don't have near this...

    Miracle Cat De-matting Trick

We have 2 cats that had some good sized mats in their fur. So, googling around I see the suggestion to work into it olive oil with the claim that it removes mats in short order. Needless to say, I was quite skeptical, but tried it on cat #1 and it was gone in 24 hours. So, proceeded to cat #2...

Interesting Discovery About Peterson Kinsale vs. Sherlock Holmes Drilling

Given my current preference for smoking only pipes with large chambers, I only buy pipes with that. Have long had the Peterson "Watson" only in the Kinsale version. Love the look of the pipe but it's terribly shallow-more typical of a smaller Rhodesian. Kept looking at the dimensions of the...

    I Think I Have A Future As A Blender

Not too long ago I'd written I'd ordered a half pound of a blend I'd long enjoyed-Oriental Silk-that was botched in some way. Didn't taste all that great. I'd recently bought a half pound of Sutliff's blending dark fired tobacco as I love dark fired, thinking I'd like it straight. It's fine that...

    They Ruined Oriental Silk

This had always been in my top 5-6 blends. Smoked it for years. Always used to be a nice smooth blend. However, when I last bought a half pound about a month ago it was so rough as to be harsh with a more prominent bitter sourness to it. Been trying to make myself smoke it til it's gone but...

An Observation About Peterson Darwins vs B42's

Just got in my B42 spigot-lovely pipe. First B42 I own. Already had a Darwin, (stamped Darwin). Not only is the Darwin shape slightly different being plumper but my B42 chamber depth is easily 5x deeper than the Darwin I own. Needless to say, nowadays I tend to smoke deeper chambered pipes most...

    My Birthday Spigot

https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/peterson/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=527084#fullscreen Got a birthday coming up and the only type of pipe I had an itch to get was a third spigot. This Peterson B42 has been attracting me a like a moth to a flame for awhile. Decent rustication and the finish...

    Question on Computer Browsers

So had been using Chrome and recently added Firefox-like to have 2 operable browsers. Jettisoned Chrome recently and added Opera when Chrome would no longer open up for me. Now Firefox tabs continually crash, (now I remember why I threw it out before). So, want to remove Firefox and add another...
