    For me, I always jar my tobacco after I open a tin. If it is extremely wet I might let it sit for a day or two but then it goes to the jar. It doesn't matter what type of can, tin, or bag it came in. It all gets jarred.

    I leave all my tins in tins and jar them when I'm ready to smoke them. I have tins from the early 80's and no issues yet. I popped a tin of 2002 Black Woods for Christmas and it was perfect.

    Depends on the tobacco but for me most tobacco left more than an hour or so has a bitter taste on the re-light. Life is to short to smoke crappy tasting tobacco. I throw it out and start fresh.
