    Some Nice British Pipes

Thank you very much for the detailed information. Your knowledge is a valuable resource and I appreciate your willingness to share with us. Really cool stuff..

    Some Nice British Pipes

Thank you for the information gentlemen. The numbers on the bottom of the stem are preceded by the REG'D, Paulfg referenced. Sablebrush, the dates you identified line up with this being a relatively new pipe when it went in the box. The Barling has Barling's, arched over the word Make, over...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (August 2019)

The coloring on that meer is crazy. I am having some Bow Legged Bear in a Kaywoodie large Dublin.

Thanks MSO. I am comfortable cleaning up pipes that are less collectible. These kind of intimidate me.

You have a good eye. The shank on the pipe in the illustration appears to be about as long as the stack is tall. The shank on the pipe I have here is definitely shorter. Smokingpipes had one on their site that looks like the one in the catalogue.

The dots do look the same, sort of a squashed diamond. The stem does not have the step of many British pipes. I suspect it had a friction fit stinger earlier in its life. Incidentally, that is a very nice pipe.

There are no threads in the airway for a screw in stinger. The dots are light blue, I do not know if that is significant.

The patent number on the Sasieni is 21513428 and there is no stinger in the pipe. On the Barling the number on the bottom of the stem is 98046.

Correct. On the side of the pipe in the first photo is the town name, “Edgware.” Auto focus did not seem to work for me.

Thank you for the information. The Sasieni shape seems more contemporary than classic and has almost "nose warmer" proportions. I will try to get the photos of the Dunhills up here this weekend. The patent era Dunhill is a 1932 and is marked with an "R" I am having difficulty reading the stamp...

    Some Nice British Pipes

I wanted to take a few minutes to share some pipes with y'all. Earlier this week I purchased a group of pipes at a local antique mall. I was told that the pipes had belonged to the seller's uncle who had died in the late 1940's. The uncle lived in Chicago at the time of his demise and was...

    Ennerdale Flake tips & advice

I believe the primary tobacco is Virginia. I have never found it very high in nicotine but that may be different for you. Because of the Virginia it ages very nicely. If your bag is fresh, the tobacco can be wet and the flavors may not have settled down. As recommended above, if you don't...

Pre-Review Then In a Day Or Full Review.

I have always felt the Sam Gawith twins, Squadron Leader and Skiff, fall into that light English category. To some that may be blasphemy.

    Can Anyone ID this Pair?

The larger one looks like it could be a Grabow Continental. If the BR does stand for Borkum Riff it would follow. I have an Amphora that I believe was made by Grabow. Although, I have not seen a stem like that on a Continental.

The blasts on those are crazy. I don't think I have seen a group a symmetrically blasted as those. I hope you enjoy your new pipe.

    What is your Strongest?

I love the taste of G&H Kendal Kentucky but it is too strong for me to smoke regularly. But man, it tastes so good.
