I absolutely love my 314. It literally smokes better than all my pipes at this point. My last bowl was down to pure ash. (I know I know) But the plip is huge. And I've heard the new acrylic ones are bigger than the older vulcanite ones. My gag reflex is so intense, that it almost affects me...- didimauw

I think for size to weight ratio, meerschaum is lighter than most cobs. Also, full bent or "Oom paul" shapes, are the less taxing for my jaw. Straight pipes you gotta work with to get right sometimes.- didimauw

Meerschaum Soaking Experiment
I keep buying meers, and none of them are over 7 years old yet. So I haven't had then long enough for any hard evidence. However, all my meers color more on the right side, if you are looking down the stem at the pipe. I also happen to clench on the right side of my mouth 99 percent of the time...- didimauw
