    Estate sale find

Stopped on the way home from work at an estate sale. Walked away with this Ben Wade Autumn freehand sitter and the tin of unopened GL Pease Tribute for $35. The pipe looks like it was hardly smoked. One Happy camper tonite.

    Prairie Home Companion?

Any other Garrison Keillor fans in the crowd? Nice show to sit, listen and smoke a bowl to on a cold winters night or a quiet sunday morning. I have always envisioned Guy Noir as an avid pipe smoker.

Postal coordinated TAD, My Trip to Paul's Pipe Shop, Queen bees, and taxes.

I think all things postal converged on my address today. Started the day off with a trip to Pauls pipe shop in Flint, MI. Wanted to get a couple of stems replaced, buy a cayuga pipe, get my members card and just take in the general ambience of a pipe shop that has been in business for 80+...

My new additions Von Ercks PAD

Being from Michigan, I have been eyeing Von Ercks for quite some time. I plucked these 2 gems from ebay for $75 smackers each. What I consider quite a bargain considering what Von Ercks go for new. The poker was his 10th pipe made in 99 and the other was his 148th pipe made in 89. Both A...

    Your best accidental blend

I had planned on smoking squadron leader as I always do today when I got home from work. Go through the snail mail, read the paper, pay some bills etc, as I normally do while enjoy a bowl of that stuff. Well last night I ws smoking some local B&M Hot Chocolate while my gal was here, and had a...

    Who's looking for Penzance ?

Cup o Joes site says 8 ounce bag in stock, limit one. Usually are pretty good about keeping web site current with what they have when I have ordered from them in the past.

Point me to a "dress" pipe

Summer's coming and along with it are a ton of graduation open houses and weddings for me and the gal pal. Although she thoroughly enjoys my pipe smoking, she's not too keen on me plunking out my big old Nordings at a gathering, let alone trying to stash one in a suit jacket. I am looking for...

    Trout Opener

Tomorrow is the trout opener here in Michigan. The solitude, man versus fish, the water lapping around my waders, the sounds of songbirds as mother nature awakens, riverbends, log jams and rocks that I can find in my sleep, plunking a worm just where I aimed it and 99% of the time where I...

    Penzance storage

Forgive me if this has already been covered, but I couldnt find anything on it when I scoured the archives. Do those of you who have gotten Penzance in the 8 ounce bag, cellar it in the bag or break it down into jars?

    Bjarne PAD

A smaller Bjarne that I picked off ebay. Smaller than I am used to, but sits well with my bite, and doesnt drag my lip to the ground LOL My gal pal says it will be less drag and more speed when I am running to the mailbox from now on :)

Any other Michiganders in the Crowd?

Just wondering if there are any other Michiganders on the forum. Right smack dab in the middle of the mitten here. Bill

    GL Pease Tribute

My local B&M has about 5 tins of Tribute still on the the tins rack, not sure if its 01 or 02 edition ( I bought the 3 tins of 2004 Frog Morton) I was wondering if anyone here on the forum has had it and could give me any insight on it. Just wanted to know opinions before I shell out 25 bucks...

    Pipes and Cribbage

How many cribbage players in the crowd? A friend, who is way more creative than me, made this for me as a present. I call it a freehand table, never be another one like it.

    Room note or white noise?

On occassion, I enjoy an aromatic, (maple, chocolate flake, vanilla, blue note, milonga etc) but have noticed that after that first iniitial bowl, it is hard for me to detect the room note. Thinking that my olfactory senses were being saturated, I started waiting a few days between bowls, and...

    Waiting on my Bjarne

Feeling like a little kid at Christmas LOL, the tracking shows my new Bjarne Unsmoked freehand arrived at the post office and is on its way for delivery. Thinking of hopping in the truck and tracking the mail lady down on her route :) Bill
