Yeah...I get all the pros, & cons, but I find the paper gets a lot of the moisture out of the smoke. And makes it a bit better for me. At least IMO. As I've suffered multiple melanomas over the last seven years, smell and taste are two blessings I don't have. So, not much is lost on that...- SunriseBoy

Like a lot of the gents here, I've tried numerous filters, and some of them really are painful to use, and don't do that great a job. Drill the plug out with a Forstner bit. Get a piece of dowel, drill a bowl shape about a 1/4-3/8 inch deep. Drill a breather hole at the suitable place in the piece of dowel. Is anyone aware of an Oz pipe smoking site? The reason I ask is that when endeavouring to swap blends, nearly all the posts here are for the US, & and that big white place up there to the north. And postage to Oz is just eye-watering! If someone has a connection, I'd be grateful.- SunriseBoy

Pipe Mud Again
I found that in this humid weather here, in Queensland, I had to back off on the salt. I'm going to use .4 of a gram, and see how that fares. The last two I did they didn't harden up well at all. So, I figured I'd ease up on the salt a bit. I'm doing one tomorrow. Will keep you posted.- SunriseBoy
