Stem Etiquette
I try not too chew the things up, but I'm not too concerned. I'm a little more rough with the stems that can be easily replaced though, like a cob or 9mm filter style.- F4RM3R

I only process and make my own blends and am always tinkering and trying something new. I do have a book of recipes in which there are probably 25 or so worth repeating blends, but I find myself not making new batches of old blends as much, mostly because some of them aren't really as strong as...- F4RM3R

I kind of see it like when you go to restaurant and want to add salt or a condiment to your meal. At some fancy places there is no salt on the table because the chef has salted the meal to perfection and balance of tastes. And it's true that you might ruin the balance intended by the chef. Do You Ever Add a Pinch of Something to a Blend?
Yep. Not every blend is for every taste and if it just ain't cutting it, then spice it up to your liking. Although I do think it's important to give a blend a chance and understand what the blender was going for before writing it off. Yep I love their DFK. Most of my blends have it as a base. But i like to throw some Virginia, perique, orientals or latakia with it as well to spice things up. Lots of good suggestions here. Might want to get some straight perique to add to some of the burleys or dfk you have been trying but aren't seeming to be potent enough.
