One Blend in One Pipe for One Week

At this moment I'd say some St Bruno in a falcon.
  2. F4RM3R

    Acrylic Stem Slippery.

Could just sand it with some high grit sandpaper to add some friction
  3. F4RM3R

    Stem Etiquette

I try not too chew the things up, but I'm not too concerned. I'm a little more rough with the stems that can be easily replaced though, like a cob or 9mm filter style.

Pipe Smokers Who have Settled on a Few Standbys

Haha yes that can be fun. I have a couple of those mystery jars kicking around. Sometimes I'll even play the guessing game in the morning, after I've mixed up some blends the night before with a few drinks in my hands haha

    Sour Taste

+1 for a deeper clean. Just some pipe cleaners dipped in alcohol and see that fixes it first.

Pipe Smokers Who have Settled on a Few Standbys

I only process and make my own blends and am always tinkering and trying something new. I do have a book of recipes in which there are probably 25 or so worth repeating blends, but I find myself not making new batches of old blends as much, mostly because some of them aren't really as strong as...

Do You Ever Add a Pinch of Something to a Blend?

I kind of see it like when you go to restaurant and want to add salt or a condiment to your meal. At some fancy places there is no salt on the table because the chef has salted the meal to perfection and balance of tastes. And it's true that you might ruin the balance intended by the chef. But...

Do You Ever Add a Pinch of Something to a Blend?

Yep. Not every blend is for every taste and if it just ain't cutting it, then spice it up to your liking. Although I do think it's important to give a blend a chance and understand what the blender was going for before writing it off. Most of the time I'll just appreciate it for what it is, but...

    New Falcon

Nice! I recently bought a falcon from ebay to replace the few of them I had sold, was missing them. A nice pipe to have around.

***What Are You Smoking, April 2021?***

Whole leaf blend. Trying something a little different again. A full flavour va per or. 40% red Virginia 30% prelip oriental 30% perique Pressed into a plug and stoved for a good 4-5 hours. The stoving actually went a bit further than I wanted, resulting in a pretty dark plug and turned the...

The Tobbacolypse: Would it Affect You at All?

I only order about 6-8 months of whole leaf at a time. But i also have a few lbs of homegrown and I'll be growing more this year. Plus i have lots of seeds. So I think I'd survive.

The Advantages of "Too Many" Pipes (Or "Too Few")

I sometimes think i have too many pipes, but see and meet people with 50+ pipes and think that I'm not that out of control. But I'm not much of a collector and prefer to use the things I own and use them well. To each his own though and I do appreciate the art and beauty of each piece I own. I...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2021?***

Whole leaf blend, trying something a little different. Kentucky base with just a touch of everything else. Kentucky 50% Stoved red virginia 15% Stoved bright virginia 10% Latakia 10% Perique 5% Oriental mix(basma and prelip) 5% Pressed to a crumble cake then stoved for a few hours. The...

***What Are You Smoking, April 2021?***

Whole leaf blend. Trying something Virginia free as I'm running low. 45% Kentucky 40% prelip oriental 15% perique Nice and earthy, with the fragrance and butter qualities of the oriental at the forefront and the perique filling things out and giving some depth and spice. The fruity quality of...

On the Hunt for the Strongest Nicotine

Yep I love their DFK. Most of my blends have it as a base. But i like to throw some Virginia, perique, orientals or latakia with it as well to spice things up. Stoving your plugs can do a lot to smooth things out. Even a straight or mostly dfk twist or plug can become quite smooth. It looses...

On the Hunt for the Strongest Nicotine

Lots of good suggestions here. Might want to get some straight perique to add to some of the burleys or dfk you have been trying but aren't seeming to be potent enough. While the perique won't increase the total nicotine, it will make things more alkaline and easier absorbed through the mouth...

    The Legend Is A Legend

Yep exact same. Not really a cooler smoke as some say, but the raw chamber is more porous and the pipe itself is lighter

My First Altinay - My Review

Nice one! I love my altinay lattice billiard. Definitely needed the airway opened up though.

To Falcon or Not To Falcon

Just cut a pipe cleaner. Same thing. That's what I use.

    The Legend Is A Legend

Yep was my first mm cob. Still going strong. I just got a couple prides though, think i prefer those, they are essentially the same though.
