    I have both. But I have more briars than cobs. Coz I like the wood grain of briar pipes. I smoke both type of pipes too, if that day I feel a bit lazy to clean up my pipe after smoking, I will smoke my cob pipes. But usually I take turn and rotate them 😊

    Your pipe looks fine. If the stem can go through pipe cleaner, then it's serviceable.     Usually, there's the manufacturer name and where the pipe was made engraved on the shank of the pipe. Like this: Do these two pipes have marking like this? It'll be easier to know who's the maker and where it's made if there is.
