Cup o joes penzance in stock

 I've fallen into that trap with some blends myself (stonehaven), but Esoterica has a lot of good blends including Stonehaven and Penzance. Penzance just isn't good enough to my pallet for any kind of quest. But agreed - It's a solid blend

    G.L. Pease Gaslight review

+1 I found Sextant quite by accident in a local cig/cigar store that mostly only carries Sutliff blends. It was sitting alone on a shelf marked down to about $6 and I thought, "A GLP blend I haven't tried, ah what the hell." I ended up buying several more tins from other places after that.

    Smoking Director's Cut

I think you all have persuaded me to pull the trigger on an HU order. You're all a bunch of bad influences. I do mean that in the best way possible of course. :-)

    G.L. Pease Gaslight review

I'm looking forward to tasting this as an aged blend - seeing which flavors come forward, meld or recede. I love it fresh, and keep opening tins before they have the chance to age though. My guess is that this one aged will end up being one of those sweet, mouth-filling and buttery blends. I...

    Plug Versus Flake: The Same?

I did not know that. I know that the constituent tobaccos listed are the same, but the flavors are very different to me. Must be the flake vs. plug thing.

Flavoring Flake/Rope Tobacco With Rum/Whisky Etc.

I don't know shutterbugg, it's just a way of getting different flavors. Just like cooking for me. I certainly don't consider making dinner for my kids and I a "hobby" in the least, but sometimes I like to go to a little extra effort to cook down my own stock or something just to see if I can...

Bob Dylan -- Nobel Laureate 2016.... Well Deserved

+1 ashdigger "Black Coffee Blues" was a great read. I haven't thought about that in over 20 years. I need to dig around in my Boxes of books and see if I can find that one.

    Christmas Cheer 2002

reminds me of a local B&M here called ElCid's several years back. They carried McClelland ,and you could often buy tins that were from 4-6 years earlier. Sadly, the new owner no longer carries any pipe tobacco other than house blends, they're all cigars now. Luckily, We still have an awesome...

Flavoring Flake/Rope Tobacco With Rum/Whisky Etc.

I added a bit of Sambucca to Brown Irish xx once. I used a small ziplock freezer bag (better surface area coverage) and added just enough that there was only a bit of liquid in the bag - I also did't want to wash away any tobacco flavor or nicotine. I let it sit for 2 days sealed, then opened...

How Long to Break In a Briar?

1 for some, 12 for others. really no good answer I have found though, if it does not taste good or smoke well after the 3rd or 4th bowl, it probably never will. At least for that particular person. Might be great for someone else's smoking style/cadence or blend choice.

What Do You Look For In A Va/Per?

Yes embers, when I saw your sig I got a bit of a chuckle. Some of the finest literature of the 20th century. Or at least some of the most amusing

    He Shoots, He Scores!

It's not so much over-rated as over-hyped and sold second hand for insanity. I enjoy Stonehaven very much and smoke about a pound per year, but would not pay more than $35-$40 for the 8oz bag (My local B&M has it occasionally and I buy it). If it were available regularly, I'd smoke more...

What Do You Look For In A Va/Per?

VAPer -- my favorite blends. Satisfying and at the same time an obsessive frustration chasing those leprechauns! good questions. I like the flavor combo so much that I end up liking a pretty wide spectrum. My ideal VAPer actually doesn't exist (except in my own blends), but would be a...

Smoking Pipes and Picking Locks (What's your hobby?)

Mostly activities with the kids - but that's not hobbies, just being a dad. I collect pocket knives (mostly traditional) and do quite a bit of wood carving. I've been collecting knives since high school, but started the wood carving about 5 years ago after my divorce. Something to pass the...
