:rofl: I've fallen into that trap with some blends myself (stonehaven), but Esoterica has a lot of good blends including Stonehaven and Penzance. Penzance just isn't good enough to my pallet for any kind of quest. But agreed - It's a solid blend- mackeson

G.L. Pease Gaslight review
+1 I found Sextant quite by accident in a local cig/cigar store that mostly only carries Sutliff blends. It was sitting alone on a shelf marked down to about $6 and I thought, "A GLP blend I haven't tried, ah what the hell." I ended up buying several more tins from other places after that.- mackeson

I don't know shutterbugg, it's just a way of getting different flavors. Just like cooking for me. I certainly don't consider making dinner for my kids and I a "hobby" in the least, but sometimes I like to go to a little extra effort to cook down my own stock or something just to see if I can...- mackeson

reminds me of a local B&M here called ElCid's several years back. They carried McClelland ,and you could often buy tins that were from 4-6 years earlier. Sadly, the new owner no longer carries any pipe tobacco other than house blends, they're all cigars now. Luckily, We still have an awesome...- mackeson

I added a bit of Sambucca to Brown Irish xx once. I used a small ziplock freezer bag (better surface area coverage) and added just enough that there was only a bit of liquid in the bag - I also did't want to wash away any tobacco flavor or nicotine. How Long to Break In a Briar?
1 for some, 12 for others. really no good answer I have found though, if it does not taste good or smoke well after the 3rd or 4th bowl, it probably never will. At least for that particular person. Might be great for someone else's smoking style/cadence or blend choice.- mackeson

It's not so much over-rated as over-hyped and sold second hand for insanity. I enjoy Stonehaven very much and smoke about a pound per year, but would not pay more than $35-$40 for the 8oz bag (My local B&M has it occasionally and I buy it).
