    Aging Lakelands

Since Grandma Kendal is slowly taking up more room in my cellar, I thought I'd ask. How do Lakelands age? I don't recall reading much about this. Thanks.

    Viking Ruby Finish.

I'm looking at a Viking pipe from the Ruby line/finish. It's a high gloss finish, which I usually avoid. Anyone have experience with this finish? Can you rate it for durability and longevity? Here's an example. It looks rather thick to me. Thanks!

    Kleen Reem Pipe Tool

I just snagged this device on the evilBay. Auction link, more pics. Anyone who's used one, please share your "pros and cons" and any usage tips. Thanks.

    Thanks.

Thanks for putting up with me for a whole year. I've learned a lot and enjoyed myself. I just loaded up some Dark Flake, Unscented in your honor, forum people. :puffy:

    First Impression: Haddo's Delight

I scored some 3 year old GL Pease from a forum deal. It's my first time exploring any of this company's blends. The bar has been set pretty high by the lot of you raving on about them. If Haddo's Delight is representative of the brand, your praises are well deserved. A VaPer with Green River...

    Best Meerschaum Pipe Resources.

I've found myself looking at meer pipes lately. I must admit I don't feel informed enough to know what I'm doing. Please share some trustworthy meer pipe sources and info on what one should look for. I'm looking for probably a traditional shape with a long-ish bent stem and larger chamber. Thanks.

Flavor Of The Hour: Hearth & Home Delta Days

As I continue careening through the halls of tobacciana, I find it interesting how one experience immediately slaps you in the face, while another may build pressure over time, like a Taco Bell lunch outing. This is one of the latter. Every time there is a bulk blend sale, I try to grab a new...

Westminster vs Maltese Falcon. Taster's Fatigue.

Those who are familiar with both, please contribute. I get may a bit more sweetness from Westminster and maybe a tad more forward on the orientals from Maltese Falcon. But, I think it's all in my head, at this point. Tomorrow, I will switch pipes and try again... hahaha... :puffy:

Mini Kaywoodie Showcase & Shout Out to Theoloniousmonkfish

I put some tobacco up for grabs and Mr. Monkfish snagged it. I tossed in two estates that I was too lazy busy to get to because his posts indicated that he enjoyed restoring. He tagged me back with a parcel of "Lakeland-ish" stuff to try. He also cleaned up and returned to me one of the estates...

Missouri Meerschaum "2nd's" Grab Bag Contents

I recently decided to snag the 10-pack of "factory seconds" cobs for about $33($44 w/ shipping) I got 8 Legends, 7 with the 5th Avenue bowl shape and one with the Rob Roy shape. Three had bent amber stems and 5 had straight. I got 1 Mizzou and 1 General, also. All appear smoke-able, though some...

    First Impression: GH&Co Kendal Dark & '69 Dunhill 90

A few weeks ago, I scored the tiny "birth year" Dunhill, shape 90 poker, group 2 size. I stuffed a Bold Kentucky flake in it one day and some Tilbury ribbon on another day. Both did okay. I recently got my P&C bulk sale purchase in, which included several ounces of Gawith, Hoggarth & Co's Kendal...

First Impression: C&D Burley Flake #3 & Harris Morta

I just got the Todd Harris Morta that Kyle sold on the forum. Light and comfortable for its size and no ghost! :D I scored a 3 year old tin of C&D Burley Flake #3 a few weeks ago. Since I've not explored their renowned burleys at all and I am new to morta, I decided to pair them up. The tin...

    Care & Feeding Of Morta

I'm about to buy a Morta from a forum member. Please share specifics for smoking and caring for this type of pipe. Thanks.

    The Big Suction Cup

I had some plans for today. The lawn mower was going to get a workout and the bike oil was to be changed. About an hour ago, I crammed a 3 year old flake of Bold Kentucky into my BriarWorks poker and fired it up. The dry flake sparked to life and filled me and the room with a deep, rich...

    Cornell & Diehl's Burley Flake #3?

Last night, I grabbed a tin of this from a B&M dated 11/15. The pop top is slightly swollen out from pressure. It was a completely un-researched impulse buy. Please share your opinions of this tobacco. Thanks.

    Durability of SPC Tins

One or two of the reviews I read concerning SPC blends mentioned that the 8 ounce "tins" may not be good for long term storage. Are they cardboard based? I haven't dissected one yet but it looks like cardboard with foil inside and out. Since I have a boat load of this stuff now, what precautions...

My New, Old "Birth Year" Pipe.

I just snagged this from Dave Neeb's Site. I've been looking passively for about six months for the magical "birth year" pipe, but had mostly given up because I was not willing to part with the asking prices. Prior to this, 75 clams was the most I had ever relinquished for a pipe. At twice that...

First Impression: SPC Potlatch and NOS Pre-Sav Rossi

I've been slaving away over a hot pipe for days now, trying to crack the code on this Potlatch. It's everything. It's nothing. It required me to stop and think, something to which I'm not generally accustomed. I even had to break out special, new hardware. Mr. Lankford, I hope you're pleased...
