    Chamfering

Theoretically chamfer should help in a smooth airflow, particularly for bent pipes in which the stem air way is not co-linear with that in the shank, the chamfer creats a shorter path of airflow. Anyway, chamfer is not always a must in real applications. There is a "none-slip boundary condition"...

    Just Finished My Second Pipe

Thanks for the input @jazz, but I like the stem more old school. I really don't appreciate the close stem work nowadays very much, I enjoy the way Bo and JM put the stem a bit distance from the shank ... the problem I found afterwards was about the interlace of aesthetic lines ... powerful Teddy...

Clean Your Briar Pipes the "New Way".

I seldom remove the stem after smoke. But hot water has been my preferable choice over alcohol to clean the bowl and the airway ... After the hot water removes the oily residues the pipes rest much quicker actually.....

The Dangers of Alternating Tobaccos in a Single Pipe

If you don't try around different blends how is it possible to find the best match? I don't care about ghost flavors. As an experienced smoker I can figure out what's lingering there. And the ghosts would disappear sooner or later with regular cleaning. BTW, I don't smoke aros ......

    $810 for a Castello Old Antiquari 55

Winning a bid is something very addictive like gambling so don't take the number so serious. I won't pay that money, but neither would I throw in a judgement.

    Bijou... Anyone?

My attitude towards a blend would change by aging, the typical converging period is half to two years...The first few bowls of Bijou were not so pleasant. It was a bit rough and newish to me so I put it back in cellar(I threw in about a hundred tins of tobacco I don't appreciate so much at...
