Altadis' Black Spice - A Value Priced Pipe Tobacco that Rocks!

Black Spice (#B21) is one of my favorite economy aromatics, and particularly adept at using in ad-hoc mixtures. I've got a review started on it among the pile of to-be-completeds; spot-on tasting notes clano!

I've made a huge mistake (maybe).

The tithing of tobacco is accepted and encouraged :D

How do you prepare your plug tobacco?

Wonderfully, actually. I've got enough of the stuff to experiment with, and I wanted to really get a fix on the constituent tobaccos, particularly the dark-fired Kentucky leaf. Incidentally, after playing with some of these layers, I recommended the d.f. Kentucky for addition to one of our NYPC...

    Pipe Smoking Discrimination

Luckily you have this forum to turn to for intelligent discussion of adult topics, undecagon. Suffice it to say, they'll never know or deserve what they're missing. Any chance you can send me a KOTOR invite?? :worship:

I've made a huge mistake (maybe).

@samgam & uber--invest in some mason jars for canning, they're cheap and readily available, you should be able to get a dozen for around $10. A slight vacuum will in no way hinder the aging process, as long as sufficient 'head space' (an air pocket) is provided. The anabolic and aerobic...

How do you prepare your plug tobacco?

I've been revisiting the JackKnife Plug now that my tins are 6+ months, Paul. I'm finding that it smokes equally well as a folded flake, rubbed, cubed, shredded, even peeling it off layer by layer; each method will produce slightly different flavor profiles too. You simply can't go wrong with...

    Which tobacco to open next?

I'd be hard-pressed in a choice like that, OTD. If you haven't tried Escudo yet, you owe it to yourself to open it immediately and consume it all. Barring that, I'd close my eyes and pick one at random.

October, 2011 - What are you Smoking?

Peterson Summertime 2011 in the Becker nosewarmer, some nice vintage pu-erh on the side. Damn this stuff smells good. Bye, Summer....

    Second pipe carving, opinions welcome

As the saying goes, that's a damn fine first attempt...now make me 10 more just like it! Seriously, that is beautiful work--you've got the eye and the hand for sure. Can't wait to see more work from you!

    Glass Pipes?

Reserve the glass for smoking pot. I've tried tobacco in my own glass, and although a startlingly clarified smoke, it was ultimately unpleasurable in the extreme. There is some mystical alchemy that occurs in briar, corncob, meerschaum or clay that tempers a tobacco, not to mention it's...

    pipe making

Fruitwood is economical and readily available; a good place to start is a local lumber yard or hobby/craft store.

Having trouble finding answer pls help

Try using an adjustable tap handle (from a tap & die set) for better control than a power drill (you got some cojones, juozapas :P )

    Serendipitous deal

One has to wonder, why on earth did they even order Frog Morton of all things? The name?? The tin art??? "Esta rana, que es tan bella!" Great score!

The shape of things to come

Big Brother is definitely holding his hand out...but no, I can't spare a dime this time. Even beyond the obvious desperation that the current spate of laws is demonstrating with a beggary of taxations as a solution, it reeks of a deeper sentiment of avarice and experimentation with how far they...
