    Straight pipe or Curved pipe?

The majority of my pipes are bent. I prefer bents because they are more comfortable to clench.

    What Is Your Favorite Aromatic?

    Dan's DaVinci and Reiner's Professional.

Pipe Shapes You Love, Visually, But Don't Like to Smoke

Some of my favorite pipes from an aesthetic standpoint are Japanese and brandys but I don't smoke either. Japanese pipes are too pretty to smoke and brandy chambers are too deep for my preference.

    Blending Your Own?

I may be in the minority but I blend my own and smoke them often. I mostly do it for fun and for economical reasons. I also haven't found a latakia blend that isn't too heavy handed for my tastes. There are lots of good base tobaccos that can be bought in bulk that are great for...

    McClellands

I'm a McClelland's man too. I've yet to find a blend that I didn't at least appreciate from them.

    Pipes Made From Antlers

I'm with Anthony. Horn, antler, and ivory all smell pretty bad when turned. It's probably harmless to smoke from them but they would impart a horrid taste on the tobacco. I really like to use them as accents on my pipes but I'm always careful not to let them come in contact with the tobacco...

    Teeny Tiny Hole in Stem

I would use epoxy. To keep it from entering and partially blocking your airway, I would take a pipe cleaner with Vaseline on it and stick it in the airway while the epoxy dries. The epoxy will not adhere to the petroleum. Don't go too heavy on the petroleum but use enough that the epoxy...

I will be there and have a table. I look forward to seeing everyone.

Who Made This Pipe and How Do I Fix This Hole?

I think that's not the original airway that was cut too close to the bottom of the bowl. I'd be willing to bet that someone attempted to "open up" the airway by redrilling and didn't realize that the airway in the shank extension isn't on the same plane as the airway in the shank. The reason I...

    Thieves

Sorry for your loss. Once upon a time thieves got their hands chopped off. Sounds like a strong deterrent to me.

Cool ornaments, Jud. My favorites are the ones my kids have made.

    Another dumb ? from Z

Why is a Monet original worth more than a Thomas Kinkade print? Therein lies your answer.

    What Would You Do?

If they are all tobaccos you are anxious to try, open them up and put them in mason jars to keep them fresh. You can then take from them as you please.

    First Artisan pipe. Defective?

I would agree that that pipe shouldn't have been sold as a first even though it will likely smoke just fine and you'd never notice a difference. A millimeter or two off center would be within acceptable tolerances but that one's pretty far off center. If it's a relatively new carver and you...

Whats Everyones Favorite Burley Or Burley mix blends

I'm not a big burley smoker but I did try Lane's Burley Light Without Bite (BLWB) and found it agreeable. I purchased it to use to blend with.

Is Dans Blue Note supposed to be this dry?

I've found most of the tobacco's I've tried from Dan Tobacco to come drier than most straight from the tin including Blue Note. That being said, yours may be drier than usual. Is the tobacco crispy dry. Does is break into pieces when you pinch it? If it does then that's not normal. If it's...

    Cincinnati Style Chili (aka Skyline)

Ate Skyline chili last year at the Columbus Pipe Show and didn't like it. Too sweet! I like my chili spicy with PB sandwich.

    Straight Razor Shave

I switched to straight razor and mug and brush shaving a couple years ago and will never go back. I use a DOVO Bismarck and Colonel Conks Bay Rum. I love that I don't have to buy blades anymore and I get a better, closer shave than ever before.
