What is your favorite part about pipe smoking?

It gives me time to unwind and as the bowl burns down the stresses of the day float away in the smoke

    What is your ideal setting?

Most frequent = in my arm chair or on the sofa while catching up on the important "how was your day dear" question Ideal (weather permitting) = on the balcony, feet up, listening to music or having a chat. Nice but rare since I moved to the city = on the beach, watching the waves, occasionally...

Let's Have Some Fun! Tobaccos You HATE!

Petersons Connoisseur's Choice, or anything with vanilla in it! I'm not a fan of aromatics in general but the Peterson's made me a bit ill.. Guess I'm not a connoisseur!

    Smoking Indoors

I mostly smoke indoors, If I am off I may have a smoke first thing on the balcony, otherwise I smoke in my lounge. My partner doesn't object and the pets don't seem bothered by the smoke. I do have to repaint now and again but really enjoy relaxing with a pipe after work. As for resale, I don't...

How do get a non-smoker to understand?

It's not really a case of making her understand. It is a potentially dangerous hobby, and her concern comes from love and fear of loosing you. You need to sit down and explain your reasons. It sounds like you use nicotine as a coping mechanism, to reduce stress so there is benefit there. I smoke...

    Indoor v outdoor smoking

Normally I smoke indoors, but love to light a fire on a cold night and smoke outside listening to the noises of the city. Or sit on the grass on a sunny day (when they occur) .. Mostly I smoke indoors due to the weather though

    After work pipe routine

I get in say hello to my partner, then my dog. Pack a pipe while the other half makes me a coffee, the fire up a pipe. If it's after a night shift I have a pipe or two then hit the hay, if it's a day shift I smoke, eat then take the dog out

July 2011 - What are you Smoking?

Up until Monday I hadn't smoked in 8 weeks, a combination of stubbornness and altruism had made me accept a challenge from a friend who said I couldn't quit for a week. Normally I wouldn't prove the point but there was a charitable donation on the line so I went 8 weeks. I broke my fast with...

    Am I the Only One

Pipes and cigars for me, but I do seem to be rolling cigarettes for other people a lot lately! Still for the nic kick I require from a smoke these days I think I would be a chain smoker if I smoked cigarettes!

Athletes or Occasional Gym warriors who smoke

Honestly when I returned to the gym after a break with about 7 bowls a day my lungs felt heavy and my heart rate was higher, my non smoking gym friends claim it dmages my potential but it never stops me achieving my goals, sometimes nic kixkfrom an early smoke takes from my motivation, so I...

I used to do odd jobs for an older neighbour in my teens who was a cigar & pipe smoker, so used to smoke some of his cigars with him, my grandad was a pipe smoker so fancied trying it, I got my first Peterson for my 15th birthday from the same neighbour and never looked back

    Getting light headed

It sounds like the nic kick, make sure you keep hydrated and try and slow down when smoke those blends. Also when trying a new blend you will feel the impact of nic within about 20 mins, so try half a bowl to see what affect it will have, and don't smoke while driving or operating machinary!
