Estate Pipes Nice To Look At, But-

Interesting read about all of your preferences. I smoke pipes. Artisan smartisan.... ? Estate negate....... ? If the pipe is to my liking, clean, high quality, I will not care if it's artisan or estate. I will put it in my collection and it will get smoked. I've never commissioned a pipe...

    Duration of a Bowl

Depends on the pipe and the tobacco used. There are a lot of factors that come into play when talking about how long a smoke lasts. Sometimes I am not aware of how fast I'm smoking. Sometimes I'm not aware of how slow I'm smoking....... Windy? Humid? It all makes somewhat of a difference...

    Half a Bowl

When I want half a bowl (which is more often than a whole bowl), I just loosely pack half a bowl in one pinch. There is no magic or complicated method.

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

I have no idea why I would argue this on a pipe forum (maybe I am on drugs and don't know it). If reality is turned on it's head by new insight or information then the new insight or information becomes reality, not perception. Reality has absolutely nothing to do with "what's agreed upon by...

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

What answer? That I must be on drugs? How is that an answer? That's just evading the subject. BTW, those are not perceptions. They are realities. Perceptions may not be real. Realities are real.

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

I'm not really trying to make a point. Just a "point of view"? I find it interesting how peoples definitions of 'alternate reality' are so different. Yes. Being in a different place would affect where you want to go or where you can go. That's how we get around! :) Yes. Those things would...

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

Reality is where you actually are. Income level included. An alternate reality is where you are not. Income level included. An alternate reality isn't about food fantasies (does anyone really have those?) or globe trotting. It's about someone elses "norm" or..... reality. It's not about...

    What's Your Preferred EDC Knife?

I've had my eye on the Ikuchi for a while now. Haven't been able to see one in person so I don't know how it handles for me. My 'everyday' changes with what I wear. Usually a Cold Steel American Lawman, Spyderco Gayle Bradley or a Benchmade Griptilian or a Spyderco Manix. I have a lot of...

    Never…..

It all depends on what it is that I'm doing or not doing. I plan on buying Christmas gifts in October. I buy them within 2-3 days before Christmas. I'm supposed to wait at least a year until my Patriot Flake matures and mellows. I open the tin within a week of gettin it. I'm a mess.......

 I don't think acid is required but it helps. Being young, idealistic and mushy-brained helps too. That's something I'm missing at my age. You can't have your feet on the ground and expect to follow it.

Funny..... I agree. That's the point (I thought) I made in my last post. For the poor, the wealthy lifestyle is an alternate reality and for the wealthy, a poor existence is an alternate reality.

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

I think an alternate income level does give one an alternate reality. I suppose you can just buy the whole store for thousands of dollars in order to save money on tobacco. That would be an alternate income level AND an alternate reality. One persons reality might say, "Youza! You are nuts...

The Secondary Market = Comic Relief

I'm a big fan of 'buyer beware'. Do your homework. And if you have $285 to buy a tin of tobacco that may or may not be smokable, go for it and let the rest of us normal people know what comes of it. Just realize that you might be considered either someone that doesn't know what to do with...
