    Micahel Parks Commission (Pic Heavy)

@soy I see that the bent billiard of your set is nearly identical to mine. Apparently, I'm not the only one who enjoys bent pipes! Great looking trio.

    Micahel Parks Commission (Pic Heavy)

To all of you fine gentlemen, thank you very much There is something about the feel of this pipe, I'm not quite sure what it is exactly. The shape of the bowl ( it's quite tall compared to other bent billiards I've owned), or maybe it's the rustication Don't know, but it sure feels great in...

    Micahel Parks Commission (Pic Heavy)

Thank you both, Raevans and Dread. Frankly, I'm not sure whether to just look and hold it or smoke it. LOL

    Hello Again- Long Time

Congrats on both your new baby daughter (they will always be your baby, trust me) and your voice improvement. Great to see (read) you back here. Looking forward to your posts.

    Micahel Parks Commission (Pic Heavy)

I commissioned Michael way back in September for this pipe and I finally received it this week. I had heard so much about him and his work and this was to be my birthday present, although slightly late LOL. I had asked him to model it after Peck's pipe, but I wanted a thinner stem. Well worth...

2015 New York Pipe Show Report from Romeowood

If I ever can't go to Chicago, I will make it my business to get to the "NY" show. For those of you who don't know Simone, (pipe nest and now Amorelli dealer), this photo is probably the best one he has ever been in in his life! Good job, Bill.

    Tin Humidor

Dar If I recall correctly, Harris, cigrmaster, has all of his open tins and bulk enclosed in those type of plastic large containers and it has worked out quite well for him over the years.

    Most Underrated Shape

I am so happy that most of you guys enjoy all manner of straights, whether a pot, billiard, or Zulu That means that it leaves all if the bents for me

Tobacco Ban from the Post Office

My post office by my business has the biggest bunch of rejects with IQ's mandated at being below 60. I'm quite sure that if the USPS can't fire an employee, the management sends them to us. Every time I ship a package they give me the third degree demanding to know what is inside. I explain...

    Mac Baren HH Bold Kentucky

"Strongest tobacco ever"? Even printed it on the tins. I think I'll wait for a sample at Chicago.

    The Friendly Ghost...

When first joining this forum I was instructed by the learned to absolutely separate the pipes into, at the bare minimum, lats and va's. However, it would be much better to separate into las, va's, va/pers, orientals, etc. I tried that and gave up when I realized I just didn't care. I enjoy...

Why is a Shell Briar So Called?

Excellent discussion I've often wondered why pipes of nearly same dimensions would weigh or feel so much different from each other. My guess was that the briars were of different qualities and the lighter ones were of better grade, to me, meaning that they were dried out for a longer period of time

A special English treat from my local tobacconist

Freakie About 6 months ago I purchased a very old tin of Penzance (about thirty years or so) from a member of the NYC pipe club, looking just like yours, but without the plume. It was excellent and I believe I shared the rest of the tin with Peck when he came in to NY. English may not age the...

First post, My story and EMP

Norm Welcome to the forum, and Anthony was dangerously correct. This is an enabler forum, and before I joined, I owned two pipes. Now, well... EMP is a favorite of mine, along with Bald Headed Teacher from 4 Noggins. (Rich, the owner, is a member of this forum). You indeed have a wonderful...

    Troubling Butera Allegation

Thanks for the explanation, Rich. I just picked up a tin at a B&M in NYC and didn't even notice the blacked out mark on the tin. Getting this blend is really tough now a days.

Got Any Pipes That Smoke Better Than You Ever Expected?

I have a Greek briar 'no-name' that was given to me by the NYC pipe club-it was up for grabs. It was a little dingy, but with a little work, it is a really nice smoker, even though this isn't my shape.

    Good Night With Cigrmaster (Harris)

Harris just called a couple of hours ago and he really sounded so much better than a month ago, even though he is still in a lot of pain. He is a very strong soul and I'm sure that he will recover quickly. His humor is there, and hopefully he and Peck will be at it again very soon.

    My New Anthony Machelli Pipe

Congrats on that acquisition. Not really fond of nose warmers, but that looks very well made. Enjoy

    I'm Offended!

Pax You may play your sax poorly (Dizzie' comment) but I do agree with what you've written and I do agree a moderator's job is not easy.
