"Natural Progression" From Aros to Non-Aromamatic?

It seems that, at least on this forum, the progression goes from aro's to lat blends, then to burleys, va's and then va's with perique. And many do not return ever to lat blends, let alone any aro. I like most others started pipe smoking with capt black and their equivalents, but after joining...

To Sell Or Not To Sell

My philosophy is that less is more. I'd rather have a fewer things of high quality than many things, pipes or otherwise. I'm just getting started and only have 3 pipes. I can't see myself ever having more than a 7 day rotation and 5 will probably be my limit.

To Sell Or Not To Sell

I'm not sentimental when it comes to objects. I've just sold the first dunhill I ever bought and I'm happy it's gone. When I purchased it off of fleabay, I knew less than nothing about pipes and just knew that dunhill was the best Yeas later, well... I agree with Philo, but I think we all know...

    Hank Saatchi Website Launch

I know Hank for over two years now, and I have never met a more honest seller than Hank Saachi. I have purchased at least 5 pipes from him, usually at the NY Pipe Club meeting, (held on the second Tuesday of every month-all are welcome). His knowledge of artisans and their history is amazing...

How to tell acrylic from vulcanite? If your teeth feel like you are biting on a test tube, you've got acrylic Obviously, I'm not an acrylic fan

    The Big Show:

I am going to try and be disciplined and not just buy the 'omg, did you see that one' pipe S. Bang Kobenhaven, Jess chonowitsch, possibly butera, and Becker as estates for the older masters, and going to check out what Clark Layton has come up with along with J n J pipes and a few others...

Could This PIpe Be The Last Brand New Rad Davis Pipe

Harris Word around is that Rad has stopped taking commissions. Hopefully it's just a break and not retirement. Hopefully he will show up in Chicago so we can find out. Congrats on that very nice looking purchase

    It was the pipe God's

Banjo That is a beauty, and I really like the grain. I've not had the opportunity to try a horn stem. Does it feel more like acrylic or vulcanite?

    Vulcanite Or Lucite/Acrylic Stems?

Well, I guess that settles that!

    Scottie Piersel Commission

I also have a Ewe Jopp with a very thin stem that has a metal tube in it. I notice no difference at all. PS. Love the shape and the design, but the multi-color stems are not my cup of tea. Hey, different strokes. Enjoy

    Vulcanite Or Lucite/Acrylic Stems?

Very simple for me-- Acrylic--no Vulcanite--YES! Modern Vulcanite does not suffer the issues of the past material containing a lot of sulfur. For me, acrylic is like biting on glass. UGH! Really too bad, I would have liked to try a JT Cooke pipe.

    Big Band Sound

I was not aware of this recording. Absolutely beautiful. (just heard the trombone staccato ending-a little strange-LOL) As a former professional trumpet player (orchestral) I have always had strong feelings towards big bands. Thankfully, I got to hear Maynard Ferguson live just before he died...

    Super Smart Cars and Pipesmoking?

Well, gentlemen, I'm going to have to take a different position. We are all using the new fangled gadgets every single day. Almost all of us has a smart phone. You don't have to have one, but the convenience is so overwhelming, that, by golly, we use them. ABS braking is part of almost every...
