Pipes Magazine Rates JackKnife Ready Rubbed a 93! (Or 4.5 stars)

Not all the GLP blends are full-bodied in terms of strength, Zanthal, in fact some are quite reserved and subtle. None are bitter or bland by a long shot. I would say the JackKnives are definitely in the stronger end of the spectrum of all of his blends. And I hope the review didn't come off as...

Trying to buy my next tin... HELP!!!

Get them all, for a short answer; it's the best way to discover your tastes and build a cellar. If something doesn't tickle your fancy right away, stick it in a mason jar and buy something else, then revisit it in 6 months or a year--your tastes and the tobacco may have better luck meeting then.

    Smoking Impression: Uncle Arthur Cutty

That's a heck of a UA combo--I'm quite fond of mine as well, and would definitely agree they surpass a factory Pete in care and craft.

    Ready Rubbed?

FYI, GLP's JackKnife Ready Rubbed is a *perfect* specimen of a true ready-rubbed. In fact, word on the street is there will be a rather excellent review of it on this very site soon....

A Brief History of Two Leaves: Tea & Tobacco

I love me some sweet tea too, Bob--nothin' wrong with that (though it's nearly impossible to order a proper one north of the Manson-Nixon line). What you're probably used to is a blended black tea processed by the CTC method (crush, tear, curl). The great thing is that, just like tobacco...

A Brief History of Two Leaves: Tea & Tobacco

Thank you guys, and thanks to Kevin for the chance to get all this otherwise useless information out of my head. I was actually *this close* to making an hour-long video of myself egesting copious amounts of codswallop in a futile attempt to self-endow some falsely humble vainglory, but Kevin...

    How do you flavor tobacco??

There are actually some great videos on this site that show commercial-scale production of pipe tobacco; the methods there are only a scaled-up version of Lawrence's spray bottle method--a big drum of tobacco is sprayed with a mist of flavoring, consisting of sugarwaters, alcohols, and extracts...
