CO and CO2 are killers in the right environment. Both are byproducts of combustion. While CO is the silent killer CO2 can also accumulate. If your lips are cherry red is CO is they’re blue CO2. Just quick reference. The wood burning makes me think CO2 as well. A Nat gas or propane...- ashdigger

Well, it’s simple. Underboar and System are Patents. Dunhill does have several versions of “dry” pipes from back in the day. Kinda like Stingers, everyone has a marketing catch.- ashdigger

Charatan made an Underboar, but that was in the 20’s. Here’s a few marketing items and a picture of mine. I’ve never heard of Dunhill having a System, the Underboar isn’t a System, it’s a way of simplifying cleaning of the pipe.- ashdigger

A lovely old cutty
The pipe is fumed, you can see the black ring at the rim. Probably dates from 1890-1905 The stem material wouldn’t be Meerschaum. Most likely Bakelite or red amber. Get that thing restemmed and enjoy it!!- ashdigger
