Who Buys Brylon? How Bad Is It?

I bought one 40 years ago, or so. Didn't like it at all as it smoked hot and wet.

    Denicool crystals are....what ?

I recently ordered some of the Denicool crystals and they added a distinct chemical taste to the smoke. Also I could detect the chemical taste in the next bowl of tobacco without the crystals. I threw them in the trash. I've had better luck with activated carbon crystals in the bottom of the bowl.

    Tobaccopipes.com

Tobaccopipes.com is just a mile or so down the road from where I work and a few miles from my house. First time I went there I was like you and thought it was a retail store, but when I arrived, I found out it's an internet only store. He let me inside anyway, but said I should call for an...

Still Have Your First Pipe? Why or Why Not?

First pipe was a Hilson Fantasia, green and white swirl bakelite with a meerschaum lined bowl. Don't remember what happened to it. Second pipe was a Ropp cherry wood, made from 2 tree branches with the bark attached. I later added a screen and it became a weed pipe. Don't remember what happened...

    Do You Smoke Your Dottles?

No. Reminds me of when I was a kid with no money rooting through ashtrays smoking cigarette butts.

Always Wanted A New Tsuge? How Does $57 Sound?

I've bought 3 of the 21 Tasting Billiards. (21mm bowl ID) All are perfectly drilled & smoke just fine, however the last one I got has a slightly loose/soft fitting stem, kind of like the stem fit on a meerschaum. The only negative & I'm nit-picking here: the stems on all 3 slightly restrict the...

Aromatic Blends for the Non-Aromatic Smoker

Maybe find what Aro she likes (mine like Molto Dolce) and mix it with some Five Bros. for a nic hit / tobacco flavor. Wondering what you thought of Country Squire Parsons Blend.

Candy Like Sweet Aromatics Recommendations Please

Smoked Aro's all of my life, mostly BCA and the like, but once I found straight Virginia's a year or so ago, the Aro's have all been thrown out, except for one which I've kept around because I like the pouch aroma. :-)

    Question about draft hole drilling.

Yes, I understood you meant to drill the chamber lower. I don't think this pipe will work well for me.

    Question about draft hole drilling.

Guess I could've contacted the pipe maker, but I didn't. Anyway I got a satisfactory answer here. Thank you Sasquatch.

    Question about draft hole drilling.

I would think it should be drilled higher like all of my other pipes, at least the ones I've kept. Putting a screen in the bottom of the bowl would work I suppose :-) Maybe one of the pipe makers here will chime in.

    Question about draft hole drilling.

Yeah, I bought a Tekin meerschaum which was drilled low. It gurgled like crazy and tobacco would get stuck in the draft hole and would have to pick it out, etc. Like I said in the OP, this appears to be intentional and not error as all of his (Il Ducca) pipes I've looked at have this feature...
