Question about draft hole drilling.
Been looking at and thinking of purchasing an Il Ducca pipe. All of his pipes I've looked at have what appears to be low draft hole drilling which is intentional and not error. What is the reasoning behind this? Here's a photo with an example of the drilling.- tenton

Do You Really Like to Smoke a Pipe With Filter
No, I like a pipe with a open draw. I did smoke a few 6mm paper filter pipes early on, cobs and Grabow's, but never really got on with them and usually smoked them without the filter.- tenton

Guess I'll go with the Navy Flake as that's my current regular smoke. Pipe has a really nice open draw, also the color is darker than the photo which makes it look brighter than it is. My first love was the Canadian, then fell in love with Apples, but got married to the Billiard, so to speak.- tenton

What is the Aromatic you keep in your Rotation?
Molto Dolce is the only aromatic I smoke lately as it's the only aromatic my wife likes the aroma of. She says it smells sophisticated, whatever that means. Anyway it has a decent aroma and zero bite. Want to try Sutliff Creme Brulee as I've read it's very similar as Molto Dolce, but lots...- tenton

Nice looking, not too expensive dark pipes.
There's no way to use a traditional stem pipe filter with a non filter pipe, that I know of. However, there are various filters that you place in the bottom of the bowl. ie. Denicool, Nording Keystones, Philtpads or activated carbon. The activated carbon is the only one I've tried. It reduces...- tenton

Does anyone remember Seaforth tobacco
Looking for a tobacco I used to buy back in NW Ohio around 50 years ago called Seaforth which I think was a burly based aromatic as it had a nutty flavor with a fruity aroma. I think I may be starting to look a little older.
I was regularly ID'd by store clerks well past the age of 45 or so, as I look young for my age (so I'm told) and it always made me feel strange having to show my ID. Now that I'm 63, I keep hoping someone will ID me. :-) Did you decide on a pipe yet?- tenton

Brooklyn, yeah that's a 21 Tasting in my avatar. Funny, I was just looking at that 23 Tasting ring grain Pot at SP too, guess that's the one you're referring too? The Tsuge's I have are perfectly drilled, no whistling stems or stummels, etc. and and smoke just fine, better than some high dollar...- tenton

Briarville Bulldog Restoration
I sent a Caminetto to Ric a year or so ago for a new stem. The original stem would not pass a Blitz pipe cleaner and I wanted it slightly longer anyway.
