    Your Least Favorite Tobacco

I really, really wanted to like, if not love, H&H Anniversary Kake but... it was simply awful. The tobacco felt like the cheapest low quality floor sweepings I've encountered, absolutely drenched in some kind of artificial topping. Few ounces had dust and dirt rolled up into the cut at random...

Going To Vietnam, Any Members From There? Or Any Tips While Visiting?

I don't know as far as tobacco, but eat some bun thit nuong and some vietnamese drip coffee over ice with sweetened condensed milk. You'll be in food heaven over there.

***What Are You Smoking? January 2020.***

McConnell's Black Flake(Dunhill Dark Flake match) in a Missouri Pride cob.

***What Are You Smoking? January 2020.***

Fribourg and Treyer BlackJack in a Windsor beater pipe. First half of this stuff is really mild, but the second half is surprisingly tasty virginia.

    High(er) Nicotine Aromatics

Does Amphora Original qualify as an aromatic? I think so, it has a mild cacao and fruit topping(or something like that). Contains Kentucky burley, which I think punches the tobacco up to around "medium" give or take. At the very least I wouldn't say it's your standard ultra-mild cavendish...

Suppose Your Pipe Is Unevenly Lit...

You do a charring light, and then properly light the pipe. But suddenly you notice that only 50% of the top layer of tobacco is lit. Do you keep smoking? Do you wait for the pipe to go out? I run into this a lot and what'll happen is the cherry will burn straight downward and I'll only be able...

Never Put Your Finger in the Bowl...

I actually sprained my index finger trying to sand the inside of the bowl. I was getting some good sanding going having the paper wrapped around my finger, then a snag and CRACK. Well, not a crack but there was a jolt of pain. Took a week to feel better. I wonder if anyone's ever shown up to an...

    Cleaning Briar Pipe Bowl

The reason why you may have heard against using alcohol inside the bowl is likely because it will remove cake. I think most advise to just swab it with a dry pipe cleaner. If your pipe already has a good cake, I see no harm in it but someone more experienced can correct me there.

    Anyone Ever Try This?

I haven't had it, but personally I'm extremely skeptical of marketting gimmicks. It doesn't mean the product has to be bad or overpriced, but this is usually the case from my experience.

    VaBur Recommendations

I would set the Rattray's blends of Old Gowrie, Hal of the Wynd, and Brown Clunee on "Ultra High" priority puffy

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

Ahh, okay. False assumption on my part from the ebay handle. Anywho, I have an update: I was hopeful as I was boiling it because there was scum that was floating on the surface of the water but after drying it for a few days and trying again, it smokes the exact same. Hot like a clay pipe, and...

***What Are You Smoking? January 2020.***

Final bowl of tonight is some Peterson's 3P(cube cut a single slice of the plug) in my Kaywoodie Flame Grain. Out of several new tobaccos I've tried since Christmas TAD, this one is the clear winner so far.

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

These are my thoughts too, since I'm starting anew I'm basically committed to learning all there is to learn about pipe smoking. I welcome any mistakes I make because that's the only way to truly learn.

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

Perfectly fine by me, I'm only concerned about smoking mechanics and don't mind the way the pipe looks. Wish me luck~ :sher:

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

It does not, but the draft hole is on the tight side I would say. I'm not sure how much this matters but the tenon on the replacement stem doesn't go all the way in, so it's a bit short...

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

the nomenclature was GBD (inside an oval), London Matt and on the other side: London (over) England 133 It came smoked with some light cake. Update: So I now have a suspicion on what the issue with this pipe is. I just decided to aggressively sand this thing to bare wood and start over(Call...

***What Are You Smoking? December 2019.***

Having my first taste of some Peterson's 3P plug(and my first plug in general), in a Mark Twain cob-- paired with some inexpensive but tasty prosecco(Happy New years's everyone). Performs excellently in the narrow conical bowl-- sweet, nutty, tangy, savory, almost like a very good quality tomato...

That Pipe’s Just Not Suitable, I'll Take XYZ…

Purely in order of what has the most rest, which is usually a minimum of 2 days, sometimes 3 or 4 if I'm consuming less.

What Would You Do With a Pipe That Smokes Very Hot and Wet? (GBD)

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) - Bob So I have this GBD I picked up from Tim West's Ebay corner which was a recovered bowl that got a silver band and replacement stem put on because apparently no one else wanted it, and I've been trying to get it into smoking shape but it's...
