    Hiking in the Ozarks

Wow, I never knew Arkansas was so popular! And we even have a tobacconist in Little Rock that is pretty good. (And, yes, another in Bentonville, up north.) Good people, good place.

JF Germain and Jersey - Honeymoon

Congratulations. Hm, I am trying to imagine selling this to my wife. Walking down street in St. Helier, near the quay..."Oh, hey love, would you look at that? It seems to be a tobacco making factory. I wonder if they will let us tour!" My wife would smirk and then kick me in the shins.

    Dunhill Pipes Are Overrated

Years ago my younger bro was also a pipe smoker, and rich, and he sent me an estate Dunny for my birthday. I think it is a seventies vintage. The straight poker was not terribly appealing to me but I was impressed with the name. Okay, fine, fancy pipe. Then I smoked it. I recall actually...

    Van Gogh Smoked a Peterson?

Well, he certainly made a good impression. (See, impression, like Impressionists, like impressionistic painting? Would have worked better if not for his being one of the Post Impressionists. Ah, well, it's late...)

Ken Barnes Returns To Finding The Grain - Pix Heavy

Does anyone know if Ken, well, would appreciate visitors to his factory? The only thing better than acquiring a new pipe is getting to purchase it from the maker.

Things to do after your pipe fall inside a toilet

My wife says all my pipes belong in the toilet.

First Pipe Club of London Meet - Review

Beerandbaccy, thanks for sharing. I'm totally jealous you got to go AND during the meeting when Alberto was there. Nice. I hope to attend the April meeting. Maybe meet you there.

    whats your store

I just met the proprietor of The Country Squire, JD Cole, this past fall at the Ft. Worth pipe show. Nice guy. Gave a talk on tobacco blending. Seems to know his stuff. But alas, his shop is about five hours from me. Anyone been to it? (https://www.thecountrysquireonline.com/) Otherwise...

    Best Shop Visit?

Samuelgawaith01, how did you get into Becker & Musico? This past July I made a special trip in large part to visit them, checked their opening times, went by...totally closed, lights off and on the sign posted I was there during open hours. Hm, Italy. Gotta love it. So I went to Novelli and...

    Best Shop Visit?

Trouttimes, you know, very archetypical (stereotypical?) New York. So, narrow streets shaded by tall buildings, lots of people moving about, lots of shops, filth in the gutters, a few trees springing from concrete, funny accents... but it helps if you know I'm from Arkansas so it all seems a...

    Best Shop Visit?

Peretti's in Boston? It's on my list. I will be east in March and hope to have time to swing by. Sounds like they have been around for ages and know their tobacco. I have been to the new Barclay Rex location in NYC. I like it. Nice staff, very chatty, and I found the location, the...

    Best Shop Visit?

I think readers would like to know where others on this forum have visited either b&m shops or pipe factories/makers. Are there locations you would recommend to others for good tobacco, pipes, chat, information, mood?

    Peretti Blends?

I've found a few reviews here of Peretti blends. More thoughts on them generally? Seems to me that they are very old school but...is their tobacco their own? Surely it is merely blended by them? But I don't know. Curious if anyone knows more of how, well, I guess original, unique, they are.

    English Trip

I am sorry to say that I never noticed if Sir John's House had pipes. He has everything else! But even if no pipes, it is to step into a time machine and into a most creative mind.

    English Trip

JPMCWJr: Just back from Old Blighty and have some thoughts. 1) Only place I've found that does estates pipes is a restorer in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. (And is a bit pricey, I thought.) Millville Pipes in the St. James Market is long gone, more than a year now. Blakemar is the place...

    Quite Disappointed with the Turk

Reading about Turkey also reminded me of the last time I was there, 2013, with students, organized tour. Our guide, as it turned out, was a big time smoker. Weirdly, a former student sent along some posh cigars just before my trip and I had those, and my pipe, and the guide and I had several...

    Quite Disappointed with the Turk

Just like anywhere, there are few pipe smokers in Turkey and thus few meerschaum carvers who are making pipes for smokers and not tourists. I visited one, back in 2003, in Ankara. Nice fellow who used to make his bucks by heading out to US Navy ships and hawking his pipes to the sailors...

    Bonfiglioli Visit?

Anyone here visited Sr. Bonfiglioli in Bologna? I've read that he is a kindly gent who appreciates visitors. Was wondering if anyone had visited and bought a pipe when there. I guess my question is, b/c he is a small shop, if he has a good selection or if I need to order something ahead of time.

    Italian Clubs?

Work is taking me to Italy in July and I hoped to meet some friendly Italian pipe smokers. The one big group in Florence, Stilnovo, is no more. Can't seem to find anyone else but I'm sure they are there. Been giving google translate a work out. Anyone know of specific groups in central...

Pipe Club of London, May 2018 Meeting

Hey Sallow, did you make the meeting? Mind sharing your experiences? I joined a year ago and have enjoyed the journal they produce. I hope to make it to one of the meetings next year.
