Standard Tobacco Company War Horse Loose Cut Is Here!

I'm a nicotine lightweight, but the description sounds great and I love nose burn. I'm looking forward to running it up through my head and tasting it... Okay, here's how I really feel: Yummy!! I can't wait to open some future mail!! Juvenile and unlovely, but it expresses my feelings well...

Looks like I'm gonna be immortal :-)

Mmmm chili. So um, soup or stew?

Cork to tap pipe on - what kind?

I've bought some of the cork knockers a while ago too, but found those corks from actual bottles function just as well. I like the way they look, or maybe it's that I was gonna throw 'em out anyway. I like using my tins lately because I don't need to clean them like my ashtrays. The clothespins...

Had a Cutom Pipe Made, Not Happy With the Outcome, Thoughts?

My thoughts? Whining too soon. You asked.

Thanks for giving the time and the sharing to put these up. It's appreciated.

Do I clean my pipe correct?

I love this place. So much. Lol. The best part of this thread, and the worst part, is that I can't find the thread I'd like to find. But then again, it's not my story to tell. Let's just say I'm pretty sure that at least some makes of pipes can take quite a rough cleaning and survive.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2015)

Luxury Navy Flake in a Dr. Grabow (I think it's a Royal Duke). White spade.

    Warhorse Bar

What twoonefive says describes my feeling better than I've been able to. I hear MrLC's point, I really do, and I greatly respect his dedication to tobacco history and appreciate his posting some here. I also think the whole WarHorse project is one of the best things I've read about on the...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2015)

Luxury Navy Flake in a naked Country Gentleman. Cube cut like bentmike and cigarmaster suggested. I've been cutting flakes this way almost every time since that thread. http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/the-cube-cut-method

    Life in a nutshell

It's more anecdotal evidence (so take it or leave it :) ), but the trends in science that seacaptain and Perique speak of are specifically mentioned in many of the classes I've had, especially the ones centered around epistemology, attempting to bring awareness to those trends. On a separate...

And I Bring You The Most Epic Pipe Turds...

This beautiful thread has my vote for thread of the year just for it's subtlety alone. Mmmmmm

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2015)

4Noggins' Alamosa in a Dr. Grabow. Perique on the plummy side like Prairie Wind, but a little more of it in a broken flake form. Really liking this today.

    Life in a nutshell

I think that's when things would really get interesting. Lewis Medlock: "Machines are gonna fail and the system's gonna fail...then, survival." If the edifices of the West were to crumble, would that necessarily be a bad thing? For some yes, but for everyone? When the person next to me...

    Life in a nutshell

Awesome :) Years ago John Locke's "The Association of Ideas" and Descartes' six "Meditations" read as point and counterpoint were a large turning point in perspective for me. So, here's my sentence to sum up. However, defeasible knowledge in mind, it could change. -Things are not always as...

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2015)

"Alamosa" by 4Noggins, in a new cob. Mmmm dark, plummy, perique flavors.

    Life in a nutshell

atskywalker; Apologies for making light of your thread. I'm working on degrees in applied ethics and philosophy, and three undeclared minors. Strangely enough, I don't contemplate these things when I'm smoking ;) . I agree about Bauman being a great reference for navigating the world, and did...

    Life in a nutshell

The original form of 'The Golden Rule' was in the negative: Do not do unto others that which you would not have done to you. More about avoiding wrong action it seemed, rather than a prescription for what ought to be done.
