    What Was your First Pipe?

Over a decade ago I bought the MM General. Looking back at it, it was a terrible first pipe and my knowledge in tobacco was poor to nonexistent. I exclusively smoked Black Vanilla Cavendish and it was impossible to keep lit. Gurgled, bit me, and tasted like hot air (my fault not the pipe).

Who got a New Pipe for Christmas?

My wife got me a Ropp Algerian straight Bulldog, and unbeknownst to her I got an Ashton Canadian which will remain hidden until the time is right.

If you're Allowed only one Pipe Shape, What would It Be?

Canadian for me. Love the way it looks. Honestly if I was a millionaire I'd buy that $43k Ashton on the bay of E's and proceed to clench and smoke it. Love me a long straight shank, love me a Cumberland stem. Love me a blast finish.

Show Us Pipes Gifted to You

Christmas came early in the SourShank household. My wife couldn't wait anymore and made me open my presents. I've been eyeing Ropp pipes for a while but would've never thought of a bulldog. Immediately loaded it with some Presbyterian. It's a smoker alright, I think I will be buying more Ropps...

    Medicinal Purposes Only

First of all, stay well and may your wife get well better very soon. Its interesting that others have this hypothesis as well about nicotine interacting with COVID infections. I had this thought early last year myself where I noticed nicotine users were not getting infected nearly as much (in...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2021?***

Presbyterian Mixutre in a new to me Comoy Golden Grain from the 50s~70s. First time trying the Presbyterian. Never had the Planta Presbyterian. Is there a big difference? Anyhow I am really enjoying this bowl.

    Pipe Liquid. Useful or Gimmick?

I like this. This is the general conclusion I've come to in regards to all things pipes related. Just fill it, and just light it. Enjoypuffy.

Show Us Your Chacom Pipes! (post forum upgrade)

I have the 861, Imperial and the 310. All are excellent smokers. The Imperial's shank extension is running around somewhere. Grew legs during my last move.

What Got You Into Pipe Smoking?

Childhood exposure to pipe smoking in movies on TV. I just knew that as soon as I'd leave my non smoking house I'd be smoking pipes. When I left home I picked up two MM cobs and a Nording Billiard. I was too ignorant to appreciate pipe smoking, and the interest faded away but never left me...

    Change?

Probably anecdotal but one night I had a bowl of Vauen No 22. Tasted everything as described on the tin. It was peppery, sweet, had hints of leather, campfire, etc etc. The very next morning the same tin tasted like hot air and ash in what at the time was both my pipes. Over a year later I...

Pipes You Wanna Add to Your Collection

Thinking about one of Bondarev's Canadians. Would love this stummel paired with a Cumberland stem.
