    TAD Acquisitions 2025

Ravenwood Provisions order: the tin art is terrific, I hope the blends measure up to it!

    Ordered 3 Blends

Funny thing (or fate/karma/whatever) I just had a sample of Pegasus arrive yesterday, so after writing my earlier post, I decided to fire some up in the Connoisseur and see for myself . . . . and in less than five minutes, I found myself agreeing with Sardonicus. I get why people like it; it's...

    Ordered 3 Blends

Hey Sardonicus, I know you prize understatement and subtle nuance, but I'm definitely getting a hint of perception that you don't actually like Pegasus? Let it all out, man, tell us how you really feel! :ROFLMAO:

    A New Beginning...Cue Dramatic Music.

Since you're in MA, you might also have a look at Wilke in Fall River, they also carry their own line of tobaccos, and some are highly regarded. FYI the "What are you smoking?" thread in Pipe Tobacco Discussion is where you can log your smokes. I just use a word file that I add my smoke-addled...

***Ravenwood Blends - The Briar Fellowship Restock Alert***

Whoever said that not needing any more tobacco was a reason for not purchasing more??

    Cape Cod Pipe Tobacco Shop

Wilke in Fall River is near you, they carry their own well-regarded blends, which may include some aromatics, as well as regular tins.

***Ravenwood Blends - The Briar Fellowship Restock Alert***

I got just a tin each of Moose Marmalade and Nepenthe. Looking forward to trying them, and also to see who else picked anything up, and what their reviews are!

PS LNF v Va. Slices 507C

Visuals aren't everything, and this isn't the greatest picture, but I can say that when I put the LNF into the jar with the 507c, the former was noticeably darker, but that may have just been difference in age since pressing, humidity, etc. Now, except for the length, they look...

Need Some Help Here From Fans Of Magnum Opus

Funny, My first bowl comparison of Omega and Royal, I preferred Omega, but first impressions aren't always accurate, or lasting! Given that Hearth & Home blends are likely to end, or at least change, post-Sutliff, I think I need to get a few cans while I can.

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

Finally popped the lid on my first GLP blend: Windjammer. Yeah, I'm still new to a lot of stuff. Excellent fruitcake/rum tin note, the classic crumbly slices, and a good, strong first smoke. Not sure how I'm gonna get this into a jar without having it fall to pieces!

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

It really ties the room together.

PS LNF v Va. Slices 507C

507c slices were made for Sutliff by STG in Germany, and the latter own Sutliff's IP rights, so very possible. And to horrify everyone on this thread, I bought an ounce of each early on in my tobacco exploration, and when I heard multiple individuals online assert that they were the same blend...

PS LNF v Va. Slices 507C

    I was gonna predict that!

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

Love that pipe shape in that finish! Wish that Sav made more of them!

Jim's Watch City Fibonacci Sequence Review.

Jim, question: do you put your own reviews onto Tobacco Reviews, or rely on the cellar or other community members? I'd like to through in my take, but as a new smoker it feels like jumping the gun to be the first to post on it. And if anyone's interested, my short take is that it's kind of a...

Recommend me a New All Day Smoke to Replace Carter Hall and Prince Albert

Brad, how would you classify Fibonacci? You're right that it's not a codger blend, and not burley based, but my first impression is it doesn't fit the standard English mode, either?

What's Your Favorite Current Factory Model Straight Billiard?

If I hadn't pulled the trigger on a similar Ropp Six, I likely would've bought a J07; agreed, they're great pipes!

What's Your Favorite Current Factory Model Straight Billiard?

Captainsousie, I get what you're saying, but I think it's the angle, the bowl is much more upright when looked at straight on. sorry for the bad angle!

    Show Us Your French Pipes

Two from Cedric Lefebvre of Pipes Ocaz -- a Ropp Six (or should that be "sisse?") and a Bruyere St. Cloude cutty:
