I heard such poor reviews, I just deleted it

    Show Off Your Charatans Here!

Agreed, they have a small, but interesting shape catalog. Is that a repair band?

    Peterson Silver Band Repair

Those silver bands are impossibly thin, they make a sheet of paper look fat. Careful application of heat will likely soften the glue. If it comes off, handle like it was a eggshell. But it's a lot less risky to repair on the shank, following Brandon's advice.

    Sanding vulcanite stems. still learning

That style is easy. You don't have to worry about the edge of the stem to shank. Just mind the round extension (I'm not sure that that is called!) and the shelf of the p-lip button. I'll wrap paper around a small flat needle file for getting the oxidation out the stem. 2500 is way too high...

Tim West Pipe Repair/Tenon Replacement Or?

He rec'd my pipe in July. I called him in August (he always answers) and he said it was making his way to the bench. I better call him for an update.

    What are You Reading Now?

This is a little disappointing 35% read. The stories are well written, but not developed enough to hold my interest. I'm hoping there still might be some winners to come.

    Sanding vulcanite stems. still learning

    Same here but hundreds.

3000 grit paper is for final finishing, I doubt it would remove oxidation.

What Is With Petersons Using P-Lips For All Their New Releases?

I only tolerate one Peterson with a fishtale button in my collection, only because it's a pre-Republic.

    that's some kind of sick!

Seeking European based repairer for old meerschaum pipe

Nope, last seen on the USPS site as "Departed Ireland", on August 11th. Conor at Peterson, has responded to my emails, when he checks the tracking it says "with Postal Agent", he nor my PO knows what that means. I think it means "lost".

    Ken Dryden RIP

I didn't recall that he was the commentator for the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" game.

Seeking European based repairer for old meerschaum pipe

Agreed,I just lost a Peterson POY that I sent back to Dublin. Ireland customs refused it twice, despite having the custom form Peterson sent me. Tried it twice, at $34 for each post.

    Ken Dryden RIP

Before my time as a hockey fan. It looks like he was quite an character and had quite a life after his hockey career (including authoring several books on hockey). I picked up a copy of his book "The Game"...

    Removing oxidation from vulcanite stems.

A perfectly slim British button with a rubber bit on the end? I'd rather take a beating.
