    Ammonia taste?

Try some different styles of pipe tobaccos, and rest your pipes longer. I find that it takes 3 to 4 days to really dry out a briar. Pick up a few cheap cobbs to extend your rotation. Just my 2 cents.

    Building a cake...

as a wise person on here stated "break in a new pipe like the way you break in a new pair of shoes"

    Tamping and Basic Questions

Did anyone catch a few shows back when Brian was talking about his tamper that was like an inverted cone, so it pushed down the sides and not the middle of the bowl? Sounds like a good concept, where can I get one?

How Do You Keep Your Tobacco

I buy quantity of blends I like and put them in canning jars from Walmart. The stuff I smoke everyday is in bags in a pipe tobacco dedicated humidor. I dry out a bowls worth overnight or for a few hours before smoking.

    Pipes vs Cigars

I realize I am beating the already dead horse here but... For five bucks I can get an ounce of really good pipe tobacco and enjoy it several times. A nice cigar will run about 5 bucks or more. I have 2 large humidors packed with amazing cigars that I can't find the time to smoke because I'm too...

    Savinelli -- always good?

I look at every pipe purchase as gamble, some times you win and sometime you loose. Cobs are always an option, the bigger the better in my experience.

This is Why I HATE EBay!

    Corn Cobb (General) Smokes Great!

So I have about 20 briars in my collection. All but a few were purchased on eBay and restored in the proper fashion. None are any of the big names that sell for $100+ new. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing them back from the dead. I recently bought a corn cob pipe (The General) and it smokes far...

    Sam Gawith Full Virginia

Agreed! I started with aromatics and now I find I never smoke them. Carter Hall has never done me wrong but it may not work for you as I have heard the criticism that it tastes like cigarettes. I find that it burns well, tastes nice (a bit sweet), and doesn't bite. There are certainly hundreds...
