We Americans live in Pipe Tobacco Nirvana

We have it better than most but it is important to understand that we fight for our rights compared to our own standards and not any others. Not to say we are better than anyone else but rather we're supposed to control who makes the laws of the land, and only on our consent give them authority...

    Birth Of A Cellar

I like the wide mouth 8oz jars for easy access and stuffing. The only problem is that I dont smoke often enough and I now have 28 Mason jars sitting around and about 10 opened tins. My cellar has over 200 tins resting away. I like to have variety available for my smoking moods.Ive been at it ~6...

What Is the Single Most Special Blend, or Tin, in Your Stash?

I walked into a B&M during the McClelland rush looking for Cheer and Aniversary (being a McClelland lover since my early smoking days) and I found tins of Rich Virginia Ribbon...it always seemed to disappear when I went looking for it. RVR was on my buy list for a long time but never to be...

    Having Some Trouble

Assuming the packing is indeed ok(different blends burn better with firmer packing) it sounds like tamping might be the issue. I went through similar phases as we all do and proper, consistent tamping is really what has allowed me to burn whole bowls with minimal relights. That along with steady...

FDA Premium Cigar Comment Period Officially Begins

Thanks everyone, I wrote that very impromptu and just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that there is an outlet for our voice. Trust me when I say that I could be more aggressive and insulting but my hope is that someone with power(care) will actually get the message. We all know how that...

FDA Premium Cigar Comment Period Officially Begins

The FDA is accepting comments regarding it's role in defining and making exemption for premium cigars in the proposal to further regulate tobacco products. I believe it is in our best interest to encourage and submit information as it pertains to our passion. Please comment, there is a link on...

Check Your 2012 GL Pease Navigator

Recently cracked a tin from 2013 and indulged for the first time, quite tasty stuff. Sweet and creamy virginia's with a smokey spicy backdrop and some nutiness that progresses down the bowl. Seems to me that there is a decent proportion of reds in it, and I do taste rum, never interferes.

    GL Pease Dark Stoved

I am a supporter of American blenders, producers, etc...I am also very sad to see a great American tobacco company close it's doors(much respect). I'm aware of other great blenders across the pond, however, in my mind this unfortunate event leaves only two "houses" state side. It would be...

    Thoughts on Beacon Extra

I get that ashy taste from time to time, but never really with Virginia's. Typically burleys will do that, especially, when I smoke a little to vigously. I recommend ashing a little to prevent that and pull back on the puff-o-meter
