Sam Gawith in stock at Smoking Pipes

I was speaking of the 250g boxes. If you buy SG from a jar in a shop in the UK, it came from a 250g box. So for me the boxes =bulk.I haven't seen the shipment manifest from GH to Laudisi, but I would be shocked if they shipped out a full container load of only GH and SG tins.

Coolest thread I have seen in a while. Thanks for posting

    The Killer Is Dead

He was a pipe smoker and a patron of Elliot Abel's Tobacco Corher in Memphis. Pipes and Tobacco magazine had an article on him back in the 1990's

GH&C Bob's Chocolate Flake - Give It Time

Damn. I had hoped reports of a perceived flavor diminution would ease the stampede for GH. I have lots of tins of non GH open that I am more or less currently smoking. I put the open tin in a zip lock. Almost invariably the blends seem better after a month or so.

Mac Baren's Mixture and Tongue Bite

Compared to the first five or so years that I first sm9ked a pipe, I am packing much looser these days, n9t just MacB. Old saw, "Drier than you think, looser than you think, slower than you think" has a lot of wisdom.

    G & H Balkan

I can't imagine that GH Balkan dried to the extent of the tin the OP opened hasn't lost a lot of flavor. I enjoy it a lot, a bit of typical GH flavorings make it stand out from other Balkans or English blends.

Mac Baren's Mixture and Tongue Bite

Back in the 1980s I gave up on most MacBaren blends, including Scottish, but I started giving them another try a few years back. Scottish is now a favorite, I buy it buy the pound bag. The difference? Back then I was an ex cigarette smoker and lots of things bit or burned me I learned to slow...

    PayPal Acceptable Use Update

As far as pipes and tobacco transactions between private individuals are concerned,PayPal friends and family has been a great convenience. But I was an eBay seller back in the pre paypal days and checks and money orders worked, too. I never had a bad check.

Dollar Strong vs British Pound Means Good Time to Buy

Last quote I saw $1.03 and likely headed lower if the BOE doesn't raise interest rates. The Euro was at 97 cents, so buying from the Italian shops that cater to the US trade is also very attractive

Fine Tune for Taste Gawith Rum Flake

Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake , Matches?, Comparisons?

I go through at least a 500g bag of CCP every 6-9 months. Tastes the same to me as it did back when Chip brought it in prior to his company (Sheffield Exchange) being acquired by Arango circa 2007. The next time it drops, try a few ounces. Laudisi has, so far, gotten the goods out quickly...

Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake , Matches?, Comparisons?

The merger was at least six years ago. Time enough to tell.. I have been smoking GH since the mid 1980`s Nothing has changed that I can tell, casing sauce wise. SG is, though, very dependent on it being fresh enough that the topping doesn't flash off,, which has been an issue with the tins...

    Gawith Hoggarth Vintage Cut

Would be even cooler if we had Rich Dark Honeydew (a/k/a Rich Dark Springdew), Grasmere Flake, Brown Flake Licorice (I suppose it would have to be called Brown Flake L to comply with naming regs), etc., as options :) I do appreciate greatly the overall job Laudisi is doing in distributing GH...

    Germain’s Chat With a Tobacconist

No, it hasn't. On December 3. 2021, I got tins of 6 different Germains from Watchcitycigar.com during the last Esoterica drop. Arango almost always ships a small allocation of Germain when they drop Esoterica but you have to be quick on the trigger.

    Swan Vestas

http://www.mitchellthomastrading.com/ Is the distributor for Swan Vestas. My understanding as of about a year ago was that they were OOS. You might contact them and see if they are back in stock and if so who is carrying them

    Gawith Hoggarth Stock Frequency?

GH really isn't that hard to find unless you limit your shopping to Smokingpipes.com, Tobacco pipes.c9m, etc. As mentioned previously, B9swellsis a good source. Watchcitycigar.com gets a big allocation every drop. A true under the radar source is Paylesscigarsandpipes.com

    Castello with No Grade?

Castello "Castello" are indeed recipients of k grades Here is a kk You can go nuts trying to systematically figure out these distinctions. At the end of the day, the truth is that ranges and grades reflect what Franco Coppo thinks the pipe ought to sell for.
