Absolutely fascinating story! I had never heard of these men or their extraordinary expedition. Thank you for sharing this.

Returning Trumpet Player After 55 Years

Congrats on your return! I have played bass guitar for almost 50 years, but I had been on hiatus for the last 6 months. Finally had a jam session last week and looks like it will probably be bi-weekly for a couple of months. I don't gig anymore, hung up my spurs several years ago, but I continue...

    Very nice, Congrats!

    Old tin designs

Love it! You should add a band around the edge that is the same color as the vintage tin (I can't tell for sure if it is orange or red)

    Tobacco Industry Recent Strength

That is interesting. I wonder how it breaks out between cigarettes, cigars and pipes.

    Question about HH Latakia storage.

Thanks all, I was planning to move it to jars. Living in the desert, I jar everything once I open it. I had gotten this HH box a couple of months ago, put it in the cellar and forgot about it until yesterday. I'd expect it is still okay at this point, but I'll get it jarred asap.

    Question about HH Latakia storage.

A while back I bought a 1lb box of HH Latakia flake. As many know the tobacco is wrapped in the gold wrapper and then in cellophane. I am concerned about long term storage and am considering unpackaging it and moving it into jars. Thoughts?

What Are You Listening To? - May, 2025

One of my favorite albums. I have played Too Rolling Stoned, Day of the Eagle and Bridge of Sighs in many bands over the years. James Dewar's voice was so good, and his basslines and tone were wonderful.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

I'd love to have my own shooting range, something along the line of Hickok45's range. I'd be very interested in the syllabus of your music appreciation course.

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

I've been off the pipe for a little while due to allergies. So today I got back to it with my new Peterson '22 St Pat (122) estate pipe and stuffed it with the new WWC FUSTG blend. Both the pipe and the blend are excellent. If you like a rich, nutty, slightly sweet burly blend with a bit of...

    What are You Reading Now?

It had been so long since I last read it that I really enjoyed it, and so I am content with just The Hobbit for now. The Lord of the Rings is "comfort food" reading for me, so I have read it several times over the last couple of years. I love that The Hobbit begins and ends with pipe smoking.
