    Shortening Pipes

My retail site, Greywoodie.com, but I am sold out. Missouri Meerschaum has a lot of them right now. A Kaywoodie website will come, but there is a long story about why there is not one right now. I have owned the company for a year and there is a lot to do.

    Shortening Pipes

Yes, and I have a variation of a P-lip for Chicago, just one pipe. I think I have old Wellington stems that are similar, too.

    Shortening Pipes

While this seems simple, it is a lot of work. You hack off the shank and redrill the mortise, face the shank. At Kaywoodie I have a self centering upright that faces the shank and drills the mortise, but on a finished pipe it will damage the finish and need the stem reflushed. Which means...

"HUDSON VALLEY PIPE CLUB 30th. ANNIVERSARY" / Saturday April 12, 2025

Every attendee got some 5100 cut from a nine pound block on the spot. I'd say it was a good event.

    Just Discovered MacBaren Scottish Mixture

Umm, @eyjaygaming knows better than almost everyone. It will not be reformulated.

    Just Discovered MacBaren Scottish Mixture

How fortunate that you discovered one that is sticking around. Enjoy!

    Server Issues?

I have seen a couple of hiccups, too.

    Real or Replica?

Maybe factory rejects someone slipped out in their lunch pail to make a buck on?

    Real or Replica?

Surprisingly, there are some people out there making pipes and stamping them some of the bigger names to get more money. I know of someone with an entire set of stamps from a historic brand, specifically, someone never associated with said brand. White Elephant does not usually make the list of...

Yello Bole Chinrester with crack in shank

Almost every single one. Better to blast when you see that.

Yello Bole Chinrester with crack in shank

Yes, there is always a minor surface crack on a knot like that. Sometimes it goes through, and other times it does not.

Yello Bole Chinrester with crack in shank

I keep all of my cracked shanks, it's how I can afford new pipes. None of them have failed yet.

Any Chance That STG Will Bring Clan to the States?

I have to counteract all of the McClelland Virginia I smoke other weeks. Lol.

Any Chance That STG Will Bring Clan to the States?

I have both Clan and Mixture 79 on my bench right now... That is what I have been smoking all week in the shop.

    Hearth & Home Magnum.... What?

Loses the appeal with no Opus.

Ruminations on the Soul of a Pipe

In this case, the stock is that old.

Ruminations on the Soul of a Pipe

This is an odd set of questions. I am forty-two, which probably answers most of them... I grade it when I grade the batch of pipes I finish. Yes, every pipe is unique.

Ruminations on the Soul of a Pipe

For almost a year now. Bill asked me to take it all over after all of the health issues. I am incredibly fortunate to have studied in the factory under him.

Ruminations on the Soul of a Pipe

If you could see the pile of aged briar I still use to make every Kaywoodie pipe. A 28 foot trailer full of it, all over sixty years old already. A lifetime supply, more than likely.
