Jim's Revised Prince Albert Review.
I like to smoke the old versions in red flat tin on special ocasions like today...i got 2 tins pre 1974 and one post 74...So I smoked a bowl today and smoked a second bowl of pre 1974 Carter Hall-Reynolds version...Comparing those 2 tobaccos- PA is smooth mellow consistent cool all day smoke...- NC TX ID pipeman

I am sometimes thinking when seeing all them hard driven pipes at antique stores or from photos-why they look like this?thick cake,dirty stems,charred rims,covered with grease.....I guess they just used it as a tool back then...no internet to find info about cleaning their pipes,likely a lot...- NC TX ID pipeman

Severe Oxidation- Live With It?
get a set of sandpapers 600,1500,2500,5000 and a jewelry silver wipes...wet sand the stem slowly under running water..and polish with jewelry wipes to shiny black mirror like finish....easy...polish with obsidian oil or mineral oil- NC TX ID pipeman

Two Estate CAO Meerschaums
I did also have thick cakes in 2 of my CAO Beklers...I just slowly chipped it of- sliding the dull screwdriver and sharper knife between the wall and cake..but it may be even easier with hot water to soften the cake...The one of yours is coloring nicely almost looking like translucent meerschaum...- NC TX ID pipeman
