    Forum Numbers

Just something I was musing... Is there a point where a hobby forum like this reaches saturation with user numbers? I have found recently that often when I go to give my 2 cents on a newly established thread, and then I see 4 or 5 pages of replies already, I can't usually bring myself to wade...

I don't think I have ever burnt the mushrooms.

    Latakia and the pine tree

Yeah, I think if your taste buds are so specifically attuned then it is more likely you will have to use the old fashioned trial and error to hunt down what the common pine denominator is. The good news is you get to pop another hundred tins!

    Latakia and the pine tree

In my experience, the subtle flavours of latakia (underneath the smoky peaty stuff) can be much better appreciated in either a blend with a very small percentage of latakia, or in a blend that has aged 10 years and has dropped a lot of the smoky/peaty flavour. I think you probably have a good...

A Little Disappointed in Recent Brulor Purchase

I always chop off/take out stingers personally, the more draw the better...but I am not saying that from an engineering perspective, just a smoking perspective. I could quite well be scientifically wrong, but that has not hindered my enjoyment so far!

A Little Disappointed in Recent Brulor Purchase

It should smoke real nice, as suggested above. But if you are concerned about inhaling bits of shag cut ribbon etc then you could always use one of those meerschaum filters that you drop into the bottom of the pipe.

    Mustard

That sounds more like mustadd than mustard!

Don't you love when this happens?

5 years age and a bit dried out is just about perfect in my book!

    Mustard

I like them all, but the fridge staples are frenchs yellow, and a grainy dijon.

Our family got served by AI in the drive thru the other day, it was strange. I knew something was weird even before I registered it was AI, because the accent that greeted us did not fit any of the stereotypes I have formed around who I expect to be on the other side. And then she never got...

How Do You Store a Lit Bowl

You can get a cheap windcap that fits most pipes, and that stops some of the ash mess spilling out. Look for it under 'accessories' on any of the retailer websites.

    Using a mini food chopper

Glad you found something that works for you. I find flake can be enjoyed in any form - fold and stuff, cube cut, rubbed out, chopped up...but it does have to be dryer than a ribbon might be. And kindling on top is very helpful.

    Taking My Leave

I can't fault your priorities there Duane, but I sure hope and pray your health improves, your medical bills ease off and you can get back here to give your two cents...we have been on here about the same amount of time, and I can't really imagine this forum without you. Isaac.

Stupid Things You Notice About Yourself?

That would be a long list, even if just categorising broadly... example #3,488, 248: I consistently try to balance and carry too many things, and refuse to put them down to find keys in pocket and unlock door, or turn on the light etc, it usually results in broken things, spilled things and...

Cellar Inventory - failed seal found

Whether you like it or not, 'Is it plume or mold' is really the only factor concerning whether you are encouraged to smoke it or not. Plume is nice crystals, mold is...mold, well down here in New Zealand it is also mould.

    What about half-smoked bowls?

I had a falcon roll under the seat in the car for at least a month before I found it, and the 2nd half of that bowl of 1Q was delicious, I guess that is a preservative heavy blend though!

    What about half-smoked bowls?

My 'bowl to drive' ratio does not often align exactly, so many mornings I am lighting up yesterdays half finished bowl. It does not have the same let down as a soggy cigar, but it is worth passing a pipe cleaner through the stem to make sure you are starting fresh.
