Hey fellas,

What’s your take on half-smoked bowls? Say you light one up, get partway through, then gotta set it down for a bit. You folks ever come back to it later, or just dump it and start fresh? How long do you figure is still alright before it gets weird?

I’m of the school of finishing what I start.
So no half-finished bowls for me

I have pipes in a range of sizes - I just choose an appropriately sized one.

The only times when I don’t finish a bowl is if someone calls unexpectedly (rarely) or if I’m bored with the bowl (rarer still).
Those bowls get dumped as my anal personality insists on cleaning up my pipes after every smoke 😁

Lighting a bowl and coming back to it the next day is exquisite with some blends and this technique has a name. It is called "Delayed Gratification Technique" and is commonly referred to by the acronym DGT. DGT bowls of Mac Baren roll cakes and many VaBurs is the preferred method by many experienced pipers.

As many have stated, I also will relight and finish a bowl that has sat for hours, days or in the rare forgotten pipe a week or two. Usually tastes like it did the day of. If for some reason it doesn’t satisfy? I throw that baccy in the gutter and go and get another.
