    The Dedicated Pipe Dilemma

I have a savinelli 673 and a MM Legend. The Savinelli has seen nothing but English blends since I got it last week. Do most of you find it necessary to dedicate a certain pipe to specific blends? Will the flavor of the old dark Birdseye I just got be diminished if smoked from the Sav? I guess...

    Dear English blend lovers,

I gotta tell ya, I just got that old dark Birdseye in and am working through my first bowl. WOW! This stuff is great and exactly what I was looking for. Its pretty stout indeed and has a great flavor a bit of spice and the room note is fantastic. This is a very welcome break from all the lat...

Relights - Maybe it’s just me

This is a great tip and one that has helped me immensely. As a newer pipe smoker I'm finding I'm definitely having fewer relights as I progress.

    "Cigar" Type in Pipe Blends

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the C&D one is PA broadleaf, one of my favorite wrappers on a cigar.

    Dear English blend lovers,

I absolutely LOVE the idea of blending my own. Thats a rabbit hole I'm positive I will be living in sometime in the near future.

    Dear English blend lovers,

I've got some Dark Birdseye as well as some HH Old Dark Fired incoming in a day or so, I'm pretty excited about that.
  10. JRW11b

    Dear English blend lovers,

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm coming to pipe smoking as a pretty avid cigar smoker of pretty heavy duty maduro cigars, smoking at least 2 a day. I'm def not afraid of a good nic hit. I've been eyeing that OJK for a while now, so thanks for that suggestion. Also, congrats on kicking that cig...

***What Are You Smoking, March 2023?***

I see that bottle of EH TAYLOR back there....
  12. JRW11b

    Dear English blend lovers,

Man, ripits. The citrus flavored one was my pick. The dollar stores in my area actually sell them! But the ones we used to get were still full strength, but came in the little squat cans, for transport purposes to overseas, I'm sure. When the ripits ran out in between re supply, we would get...

    Dear English blend lovers,

Oh, thanks! Never noticed that. This will surely come in handy.

    Dear English blend lovers,

Noted, good sir. Why would you recommend avoiding anything with dark fired? This was such a vague response. "Commander, where should we park the ship..?" "Somewhere over there......." -Darth Vaguer

    Dear English blend lovers,

Brother, I was an infantryman in the Army, I also smoked newport 100s AND used to dip at the same time. Good to know. Either way I'll def give the burley leaf a shot.
  16. JRW11b

    Dear English blend lovers,

Noted! Thank you for the recommendation!! I've heard people mention some burley blends taste like a cigarette, do you experience this?

What Are We Drinking In March 2023?

Working on a bottle of EH TAYLOR small batch and about to finish up a bottle of WT Rare Breed. Always sipped neat in a Glencairn or similar style tasting glass. Some of you folks in here got some damn good taste!

    Dear English blend lovers,

I should have noted in my post that I'm not interested in aromatics, but maybe that might change later down the road?
