    Smoker’s Pride Classic Blend

If it's 2¢ a ton, just get some and fling it or flog it if it's disagreeable.

Latakia Doesn't Age Well ... Or Does It?

Germain's Special Latakia Flake really gets its Lat on after a few years, becomes awesome.

    Rouseco Buoy Gold

    $15 would get us 0.4oz.

    Rouseco Buoy Gold

RYO costs 2x pipe tobacco in the UK, so only a fool or a rich man would smoke it in a pipe.

    Peterson 221 vs 230?

    I have a 221 Dracula, clenches fine.

    Latakia and the pine tree

It was certainly a feature of Mac Baren HH Latakia Flake, of which I smoked a great deal one year. It was a signature I tended to expect in most Latakia that wasn't Syrian after that. SG Commonwealth has it, for sure.

(1974) Peterson’s 01S Silver Spigot - Detailed Restoration (Long Read 7 Parts And Over 100 Photos)

Excellent, and a most worthy subject, a Pete with a fishtail.

    Gawith tin note

There's some mileage in the idea of getting a full check up, bloods etc. I can trace my current bout of sepsis/illness to midsummer, when my palate changed and I struggled to taste the sweetness in my favourites. Do not ignore early warnings; the flavours and scents of pipe tobacco are an...

Is There a Cure for TAD, or Am I Doomed?

My TAD has been temporarily suspended owing to hospitalization, so that's one way. No resume date so far, alas.

    Presentation of a new user

Ah, there used to be a New Members thread, but it was taken away because of reasons. Don't feel bad, we secretly liked it but it caused other problems.

Vendor wants ID for a pipe wax order

Go and look up "daily dietary carbon allowance", it's where we're headed. My plain cheese on white was 11.4%, btw.

    Better tobacco understanding

Don't chase the flavour, let it find you. Relax.

    Overnight tobacco shipping/ vendor response

First-world problem. Be realistic about your expectations. Once the goods are dispatched, the vendor is as powerless as you are as to when they arrive; it's all UPS in transit, so you should vent at them for late delivery, not the vendor. Most of my deliveries in the UK are overnight, but I...

    Singleton & Cole price lists

I was boggling at Hardcastles for a fiver and Dunhills for half that - until I noticed the Hardcastle prices were for a dozen and the Dunhills for each. A Group 3 Root Briar for 107/6 retail, £5 7s 6d - about half a week's wages for many in 1960.

    Using a mini food chopper

I do that for all flakes. Wet or dry FVF, St James Flake, Gawith Louisiana Chocolate, thick or thin STG.... got used to it, I suppose.

How Do You Store a Lit Bowl

I stuff a lit pipe in my jacket pocket when I'm out and about, to catch a bus or go into a shop or whatever. Quick blow to get the ash off the top, tamp if I've time, to prepare for the relight later. It goes out pretty fast.

    Using a mini food chopper

Have you tried it folded and stuffed? The thread title caught my eye with visions of a gruesome domestic mishap, for some reason.

    "Remembrance Day"

Last week in the UK, a 100 year old WWII veteran was on breakfast TV. Said that, in retrospect, the sacrifice hadn't been worth it; they fought for freedom and now we have less than ever.
