Sour pipe bad, sour tobacco good?

A sour pipe is horrible if you ever smoke one that's soured you'll never ask this question again. A soured pipe is more a spoiled pipe then sour. It's more like a pipe that now taste like a dog shit in the bowl. Seriously if you have one sour it's not an enjoyable sour it's a this pipe is done...

    Is This a Crack?

that's the kind of thing that is there because it's no big deal and most pipe smokers wouldn't notice. Seriously the number of pipes with something like that which got sold and smoked with no issue is higher then you'd think. Remember not only is briar a natural material it's made out of root...

    I Remember When..........

I wouldn't call it fake. Not with the injuries the guys take, it's real. It's just scripted but it's as real as ballet. In fact one could look at wrestling as testosterone ballet.

    Cornell and Diehl blends

at worst I've had some get a bit harsher then usual. But never got bitten by one of their blends. Even the styles that are more bite prone. I think some people aren't used to smoking tobacco at the moisture levels they tend to ship at. Which can make fast smoking burn through a smoke faster...

    Tin bids veracity

For a decent explanation of the drop in cig quality... Look up reconstituted sheet tobacco.

    Tin bids veracity

They're not uncommon at cigar shops or other places with more extensive tobacco stocks. And I agree with the DixiePiper about them. Though if you ask a shop if they have them, there is a good chance they'll say yes and then it turns out they only have the cigars.

    Cornell and Diehl blends

there is always the possibility that certain blends just bite certain people. There are a few Mac Barens I can't smoke because they just bite me. Also some people call Mac Baren Mac Biten.

learning how to smoke. If you pack lightly and smoke gently and pay attention while smoking bite shouldn't be an issue.

Does a meerschaum pipe bowl make a difference?

my problem with meer lined is the chamber shrinkage. Otherwise they do what they're supposed to do. And do smoke like a meer you can drop on concrete and not cry.

yeah. I thought I'd smoke cigs if they still made them like they used to. Got gifted pretty randomly a few from a cutter top. Reminded me of a good VaOr to be honest, like a really good one.

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

I think you understand this aspect. Being in the art world for so long. And understand that putting a solid price on workmanship is part of it, while also understanding how fiscally intangible feelings and effects are. When you buy a painting you're buying work and also the feelings, thoughts...

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

this part of the exchange shows a big key to the mystery. People want different things and the more particular those things are the more it costs to get them (usually).

    Tin bids veracity

I love tins bids for seeing pictures of weird blends I've never seen before or even heard of. My favorite thing I saw there was a round tin of Woodbine Cigarettes. It was just such a shockingly vintage thing. Cigarettes solid in tins in big round 100 cigarette tins, cigarettes used to be...

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

Of course. A cheaper pipe is about utility and for the company to make money they need to move volume. An expensive pipe has to really appeal strongly to a smaller number of people. That often means it has to be unique and unique increases the chance of the pipe being somewhat akward to handle...

    Why are some pipes “expensive”?

It depends. Artisan pipes cost more for several reasons, the biggest is time. A factory can make several complete ready to ship out pipes a day. Where a none factory made pipe takes several days. The other thing is that if you're making one pipe at a time by hand you can shape it for grain, it's...

Sometimes that's the best you can get. I know I don't have any interest anyways on buying unicorns, but some of that stuff only came in bulk anyways. Though it's not like you can test the stuff. So bottom line is do what makes you comfortable and if you get burnt taking a risk you can't...
