    Rouseco Buoy Gold

Well I guess this is for the government inspectors to decide. That's a legal issue.

    Rouseco Buoy Gold

Again I think there is a difference in terminology here. I would absolutely agree with your statement if we were talking about roll your own/hand rolling cigarette tobacco. RYO/hand rolling tobacco is a different product to pipe tobacco, made for a different purpose. But the original post was...

    Rouseco Buoy Gold

Price! Taxes! Certainly in the UK, you cannot have flavoured RYO. Only plain. Packaging - only plain packaging in the UK. Pipe tobacco will be more moist. RYO tends to be fairly dry. Type of leaf used, depending on the pipe tobacco. The processing the leaf goes through - again depending on...

    Rouseco Buoy Gold

Difference in terminology. Here in the UK we have RYO (hand rolling for cigarettes) and pipe tobacco. They are taxed differently and the government states what constitutes a hand rolling tobacco versus a pipe tobacco i.e. how thin/thick the tobacco can be cut. The "thinnest" pipe tobacco...

European Pipe Tobacco: Additives or No?

And you can't just go adding anything you like, its fairly controlled and any flavourings have to abide by regulations i.e food grade usually

    TAD Acquisitions 2024

They are in recyclable plastic trays with a sealed film, in a nice box. And have been for a while now. This is only for flakes and twists as it ensures these products hold their form better as they used to get crushed and broken in bags.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

It is really dependent on what we have a large demand for in terms of flakes and so have a good number of "ends". But we certainly hope to expand the range in the future.,
  8. gawithhoggarth

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

OK. He replied to someone asking about Sam's Burnt Ends so presumed he meant Burnt Ends, but yes I guess could have just meant standard Sam's Flake.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

The same leaf is used to make Samuel Gawith as Gawith Hoggarth, same machines, same staff.... Please see SmokingPipes video about Burnt Ends. There is no Turkish leaf added to the FVF or any spritz of addition tonquin or anything else.
  10. gawithhoggarth

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

Yes I guess so as the ends kind of squelch out of the forming plate. As for the rest well I guess that will be for the individual smoker to decide on how they decide it smokes and what characteristics it has.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

Well I have not spoken to any retailers about this. And there is no one else he would have talked to as everyone on holiday.

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

I think Laudisi's post said today but you'd need to check with them.
  13. gawithhoggarth

    Sam Gawith Burnt Ends

No. Not at all. Pensioner's Mix is a Gawith Hoggarth blend, not a Samuel Gawith blend. And it is a mixture of all the bits and pieces from manufacturing. Burnt Ends is just based on FVF.

    Is Gawith out of perique?

I suspect you are right about the next most likely government - tax everything and everyone, ban everything....... We do not currently have a factory shop but it is something we are looking at and is hopefully in the pipe line.
  15. gawithhoggarth

    Is Gawith out of perique?

We are waiting on a delivery but due to UK regulations with importing raw leaf, it has become more difficult. Containers full of leaf are fine, but barrels of Perique are a little harder. Perique is also incredibly difficult to source and get in large quantities, especially if you are not near...

    Future Blenders

There are extreme things happening on a regular basis!

    Future Blenders

It's regulation and taxation that will kill the industry.

    Pipe Shops In West England

Yes because sending packages to Finland is not buying it in Germany. Shops are not meant to sell abroad. Tobacco sold to Germany is for sale in Germany.

    Pipe Shops In West England

We supply Germany with quite a few blends so you should be able to buy there.

    Bob’s Chocolate Flake

Well unless we are talking 50+ years ago or something but I don't think its been around that long and think t was Dad and Grandad that did most blending before our current two senior blenders.
