***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

This past afternoon was beautiful, 72 degrees, blue sky and a gentle breeze. It was perfect for sitting in the yard with a good cigar and a great beverage. The cigar was a 2015 toro sized Buenaventura, the beverage was The Macallan 12. The cigar was wonderful, and I smoked it till it burned my...

***What Are You Smoking, August 2025?***

I had a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon ZOOM meeting with my pipe buddies, as I smoked a bowl of 20+ year-old McClelland 2000 Fragrant Matured Cake in my long-stemmed meerschaum, a gift from my brother-from-another-mother, Al. A wonderful smoke, good conversation and warm camaraderie.

I haven't smoked a bowl in over three weeks (was ill with "plumbing" problems; us old guys have prostate issues, I'm much better now). I was well enough to spend time with my ZOOM buddies this afternoon. I fully enjoyed a bowl of Samovar in my Peterson Arklow 80s, while catching up with the...

While hangin' with my Saturday afternoon ZOOM buddies, I smoked some vintage Nat Sherman No. 536 English Empire in my late 90s Skipper calabash shaped pipe. Great smoke and even better conversation. My beverage was a mug of Jack Daniel's Tennesse Whiskey Coffee, straight.

    Xikar Adore Lighter

bootlegpipes, I use it both inside and outside. If it is unusually windy, it's a little more difficult to keep lit, but I don't fill the bowl to the top and the flame can be directed into the bowl without scorching the rim.

    Xikar Adore Lighter

I've owned and used the Resource lighter for more than 15 years and when piping I'm never without it. It's all you need: lighter, tamper and scraper. The Resource II is the newer version, though I can't tell the difference.

***What Are You Smoking, July 2025?***

I had a very pleasant meeting with my Saturday afternoon ZOOM-mates. I smoked my GBD Militaire 357 prince filled with some rather old and mellow Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend. With all the recent post about coconut water, I chose to try some Bai coconut water in a tumbler of bergs. Very...
