    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

I had a very rusty tin of 2018 HH Bold Kentucky that smelled and tasted terribly of metal, but after a day or two in a new jar with the lid open it lost the metal taste, and two days with the jar closed later it was one of the best smokes of my life. I reckon that jar is still floating around...

Different pipes for different tobaccos, Myth?

I’ve found that there are too many variables to draw strict rules. Generally, I like smaller chambers for Virginias and large, wide chambers for English blends, and outside of that it’s pure trial and error for me. Even the broad generalizations I’ve drawn here don’t hold all the time.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2025?***

Started today off with some Early Morning Pipe in the Peterson 103, then onto Squadron Leader in the Comoy’s 334 around lunch, then after work half of a rolled up 507c Virginia Slice in the Peterson Junior rusticated lovat (which I can now happily say is dedicated to the blend). Now I am...

2025 Texas Pipe Show Nov 14-15

I’ve purchased tickets and registered for the slow smoke, and while I did get an email from the show today it was not the email that you posted. I’d keep that email at arm’s length. “Business executive”? Also, the address mine came from was registered at the Texas pipe show’s website, not...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2025?***

Ugh, so jealous man! Both my neighbor and I have tractors that are strictly front loaders and we often bemoan the lack of a good excavator, though lord knows we would get ourselves into trouble with one.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2025?***

Had my brother and a buddy over yesterday evening (unfortunately interrupting the very enjoyable forum Zoom meeting) to do a property trash pickup. We celebrated the end of our labors by cracking into a tin of ‘08 nightcap. Smoked side-by-side with current production nightcap, ‘08 out of a Pete...

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

The residue on the ribbons gave me pause at first, but a nice flashlight gave me some sparkly insight as to the contents of this tin of Dunhill Nightcap from 2008. Just enjoyed a bowl with my brother and a friend out of a workhorse Pete alongside some current-production Peterson Nightcap.

    4th Pipes Magazine Zoom Meeting

I thoroughly relished the brief window of time I was able to share with you godawful sons of fine folks - thanks again to @VDL_Piper for hosting, and cheers to everyone. I will endeavor to spend a longer period of time logged-on to the meeting next time!
